Congrats Bucs!

Tampa 48 Oakland 21 ... wow... uhhhh.. errr. wow
What is wrong with Oakland? It's like they aren't even playing. I am not really cheering for either of them, but it would be nice if both teams played their best. (Ok, so I'm cheering for Tampa, but it's a personal thing... and because they're the little guys, so to speak.)
I broke out the knitting needles and yarn. I am getting the hang of it. I think I am just tired every time I start it.
Time for sleep. Superbowl tomorrow. Must clean up and get fud. It's just going to be family (sans mom who is visiting her family) so it's not anything fancy.
Run for your life... The freaking dishwasher just threw sparks out at me! What the fudge is up with that? I give up. It's apparently about 10 years old, so I'm figuring it needs to be replaced, especially if it's sparking. I'm just glad one of the kids wasn't walking by it at the time. It could have seriously hurt one of them. I was about a foot to the left of it and felt some sparks hit my arm.
Skittles is sitting on my mouse trying to get me to feed her. She's got another three and a half hours until it's food time. Cats, sheesh.
:yawn I should be asleep, but we are sitting here waiting and awake to take my mom to the airport... It's 36F outside, burr. I am so going back to bed when we get home.
I got 809ed. I mean come on people! Give me a break.
Getting dizzy.. can't even eat my yummy egg roll. Hope I'm not getting ill, that would suck.
You know what's funny... I've been keeping a journal online since 1995. In July it will be eight whole years! Whoa. I lost everything before 1997 and some of 1997-98 when my old computer Bessie died. Complete failure. I tried the web archive but it didn't have those. I'm wondering if there is anything at my parents that might have them on. I had been keeping a copy on floppies in 1995-96, but I never found it.
Hmmm. They do have my first laptop... the one that you need a floppy to boot up with (and it still works I should add). I wouldn't put it past my mother if we still had our Atari.. she loved that game. All we needed was the tv convertor but nooo, my brother had to have a Nintendo. /sigh I hated Nintendo, I was only ever good at Goonies.
Darn it... I missed getting the small pox vaccination as a child. I was going through my old medical files and I apparently was too young to get it that last time I would have needed it. /sigh
Mom is heading to see her folks in the morning, so we're taking her. My dad will need his sleep.
Nell... has passed.
Well, it's been busy around here. I had Brittany over yesterday and last night so she could concentrate on her book report. She finished it yesterday and now has to do the project for it. She has to make a movie poster that will make people want to come to see her movie [book]. She's been learning how to use Photoshop a lot lately along with the tablet and is getting pretty good. It would have been cool if she could have done it all on the computer, but it's supposed to be handdrawn on posterboard. /sigh
My niece Shalyn is also getting pretty good with the tablet. I opened paint for her (I don't want to start her on Photoshop yet, she's only 4) and I came back a few minutes later and she had drawn grass with a little girl standing in it. I saved it somewhere. She definately takes after her father. My brother has always been a good artist.

I decided to create a little Gollum desktop. Isn't he just adorable. :biggrin
I think I spent about 15 minutes on it, so it's not perfect, but it will do. I'll probably work on an Aston Shell theme for it later. I have some other ideas for the image, but it's good for now.
I heard this last week and you know what was funny, I thought... Cool!
We're watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this morning. The kids came over and really love that movie. Silly kids.
Been sitting here watching Mark Romanek videos. /sigh. Those are good videos.

Damn clouds.
Sent off a cashier's check to pay off the car. Woot, no debt!
My mother has to get my niece some black shorts today. My sister-in-law and my brother will both be tired after work to take her. Apparently she and some other kids from her school are auditioning tomorrow to dance at Disney. Well, good luck kiddo.
Skittles is having fun outside. She just spotted a squirrel and is watching it with much interest (lunch?).
Josh is organizing my parent's garage. He gets bored and does this. Silly Josh.
The 5th Harry Potter Book (The Order of the Phoenix) is due out on June 21st. It's going to be 38 chapters and 255,000 words. Eeek.
I think I'll preorder it from somewhere. I'm scared of being bombarded by that many kids. Then again, Maybe one of the zillion Warner Bros stores will have copies. I imagine Brittany will want a copy for herself. If she buys her own, she can go with me when I get it, but if she doesn't want to fork over the probably close to $30, then she'll have to wait a couple of days for me to finish it. (I'm a good and obsessive reader)
I've finally found out who it was that recreated the Ralph Wiggum valentine.
Valentine's day is in less than a month. I wonder what Josh would like. Flowers? R/C Airplane stuff?
He's registered to go to a sporting goods show with my father. It's not one of those kind, ok well it is, but it's for sales. Spyderco and a few other big name knife companies will be there, along with a ton of other kinds of folks. I should note that today we found out Travis Tritt will be performing and Josh asked it it was too late to back out. It's 4 days long, so he can just skip the time that he's there. I do want him to visit the ATF and FBI.
Just saw Wil's infommercial for the X3D Gaming system.
Side note... I didn't know you drove a TDI. (if I was Shalyn, it would be "drived" a TDI)
And finally via Wil, via a linux mailinglist ...
Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing - similar to cookies. Take a look at their updated privacy statement.
About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo! Network", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you opt-out of their new method of snooping. You may want to do this. Once you have clicked that link, you are opted out.
Notice the "Success" message at the top of the next page. Be careful, because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button that, if clicked, will *undo* the opt-out.
Why? Palm is dropping "graffiti" for an easier system (oh and because Xerox is suing them). Now that I have started writing my letters in real life like I write them on my PDA, they go and change it. Go figure.
I tried watching some "prime time" tv and I felt like I was wasting my time. I really only enjoy criminalist shows. I've got Joe Millionaire on right now, but that's mostly background noise. Although I did just glance up to see them slopping horse stall fun around and hear the guy say something about iodine enemas.
New mouse. A logitech optical. Since I am out of usb ports on my laptop (I don't like using the touch pad when I'm set up on a desk or table), I had to get one that had a ps/2 adapter. I would have gotten a trackball if they had any. /sigh
Happy birthday :biggrin
Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees has died. I liked the Bee Gees. Not necessarily their disco music, but they had some pretty good songs that know one realizes is them.
Went shopping with the kids. Brittany got to spend her money from her report card payout and actually got quite a bit. She got a Harry Potter gift set with a trunk, Hagrid, and some other odds and ends. She also go some bathtub tints to change the color of the water. I bought some too, for when the kids visit. (Yeah, that's it, for when the kids visit!)
Brittany told me she wants to be an elf. I think she likes the idea of living so long and just doing what elfs can do. Kids are cute. I think she'll probably be updating her journal soon. I'm not sure.
My youngest niece is becoming the puzzle princess. She's had a puzzle for 5 minutes and has almost completed it. She's 4. Go Shalyn.
The kids spent the night so I'm up and out here incase someone wakes up. My nephew is out good. He didn't get a nap yesterday and well it was a good night for sleep!
Brittany fell asleep around the last 20 minutes of FoTR last night, but only for about 5 minutes. She seems excited about going to see The Two Towers today. Yeah.
Brittany and I are watching the Extended Version of The Fellowship. She's preparing herself for tomorrow. We were going to have a movie day tomorrow and see movies all day. However, plans have changed. We discovered that we are only going to be able to see The Two Towers. We will see The Wild Thornberrys Movie another day and we've seen Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets enough.
We had an almost complete family dinner tonight with my parents, brother and his family. My other brother was at work though. It was kind of spur of the moment anyway.
We're slowly learning Elvish. Wish us luck!
I'll have to add Tennessee to my list of places to stay the fuck away from. Ok, well at least Cookeville, Tennessee after a fuckwad officer shot a poor dog.
Ok, so far:
To quote a well known bumper sticker...
"Don't blame me, I voted with the majority."
I guess I was a strange child. I adored Albert Einstein, did book reports on Gorbachev, and did lots of homework on airplanes. I miss those days. I think I just miss airplanes. I sleep so good on airplanes. Is this a normal thing?
I've been really tired as of late. Not sure what it's all about. I purchased a new deck of Tarot cards yesterday. My mom bought me some about 16 or 17 years ago and I think they are in storage somewhere.
I also ordered some books tonight. Tolkien books that I realized I haven't read and some Tolkien reference books. Maybe I'll take up learning Elvish for the fun of it.
I got my software and loaded up dreamweaver on this machine. I need to freshen up on it. I also need to get back into PHP. I think it's the weather that is making me unmotivated. I don't know.
I noticed there are quite a few people moving about and essentially starting over in a new place. Hope everything works out.
My mother is working on a puzzle. It's a 43 piece giant kids puzzle. She decided to put it together and mark the back of the puzzle so she knows exactly where the pieces go. There is nothing more painful than the sound of a 2 or 4 year old who is frustrated and can't figure out where the pieces go. Way to go mom!
Yes, I need this. If I had enough visitors, I'd start a "tip jar" hee hee.
In other news, Brittany finally updated her journal.
Happy eleventy-first (111th) Birthday my good man.
I jokingly started calling my nephew Legolas because the haircut he had looked like the haircut Orlando Bloom had for the Legolas wig. When I called him by his name today my younger niece (his sister) reminded me "No, it's Legolas." She's turning into quite the LoTR fan.
I need to stop using the term "Republican as a slang descriptive term. You know, people with huge SUVs and no legitimate use for them other than to look good are so Republican. /sigh
Home Depot was open and the shopping was good. The people were annoying (lots of large dysfunctional families) and the place was a mess.
Tonight I shall shop for material to make some cute stuff for the kids. I just want to mess around with some patterns I have, that's all.
Happy New Year folks!
