Ok, we're heading offline in the morning. I will check in from the road, so don't worry.

Ta-Ta folks!

cool

My husband is the best. I went to sleep before he finished the bathroom (so I could get up early and finish the hallway this morning). I just went in there and it looks GREAT! Holy carp does it look good. I know it's got a few coats on it as well. It still needs to be cleaned up but it looks good!

Early dinner tonight with Gina et al. and then more painting. After I finish the hallway, there will only be one room left. That room has only 2.25 walls to do and that's it!

Sad day in general

Friday was just a sad day in general.

First we get news that Senator Paul Wellestone died in a plane crash, then we get news that the wonderful actor Richard Harris died today at age 72, and just now I was informed that a friend of the family has died tonight. Dot, we love you.

Sad day

Richard Harris has died. He recently played Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter movies.

Tis a sad day today.

My head

Oh my head! Well, I slept without the featherbed and boy did I miss it. That sucker is going to be the last thing on the truck and the first thing set off to the side.

The bedroom is completed and I've just finished taking down the surround sound speakers and packing them and the stereo equipment up. Go me!

I need to find out the billing cycle for the utilities and get cancelling stuff! /sigh

Three coats

I'm painting the bedroom today. Three coats of paint. That's how much it's taking. Three coats! I'm on a break. (read: I'm waiting for some paint to dry) and will probably eat something soon.

Possible snow tomorrow night and also on Tuesday, moving day! /sigh Hopefully it will move through extra early or extra late so we can get everything packed in the truck. Once again let me state that we have too much crap! I can't even paint the bedroom walls all at once because there's still so much crap in there!

Ok, time for food and then back to painting. It dries really fast thankfully.

Snow

There is friggin snow on the ground! I went out in a pair of sandals and stepped in SNOW! SNOW people, SNOW! It will probably be all melted in about an hour. Apparently we got about two inches. Right now it just seems like we got a trace. I managed to take some pictures. They were on a disposable camera though, so it will be a while before they are developed.

Surviving

So much packing. When will it stop? Today has gone rather slowly for me. I'm dreadfully tired for some reason and hungry. So many boxes. We've begun stacking them in the bedroom now. All of the other rooms are full and we haven't even finished. We have to run out in a bit for packing supplies!

Skittles doesn't seem to know what to make of all of this. We've kept all of her beds and a few of her toys out. Maybe she thinks were just being messy, I don't know. She knows something is different, I can tell.

Tonight I am going to watch Surviving the Iron Age. It's a BBC show from last year, but I never got to see it. For some reason we don't get BBC here. Thankfully we'll have it when we move!

Rented

One truck rented for next Tuesday till Monday. Yes folks, that's the move date. We're almost done packing. Tomorrow begins the "moving everything around" phase. Then we begin painting and repair. /sigh I'm already so tired right now. Ahhhh. :sad

On the brighter side... I love my featherbed. Even Josh likes it. I've actually gone to bed sore from moving stuff around and woken up the next morning feeling perfectly fine! Nice bed, cozy bed. Me like me bed. :yawn

Posted by miftik at 06:41 PM

Urgh

I'm so bloody tired and sore. We have so much crap it isn't even funny. I never realized much paperwork we have. Financial paper work, insurance paperwork etc. I'm happy that I am as organized as I am, because we'd be screwed otherwise.

Josh's being sick isn't helping anything. He's grumpy, moody, and incoherent at times.

Tomorrow we are probably going to start taking the computers down and everything. I'll probably hook the cable modem to my laptop and have that as our sole access. eek!

Alright, back to packing, uhh, after a little cake.

Signed

Sales Agreement signed. It's really happening folks. We're going to be moving. tomorrow I go back into the attic. That's where the real fun begins!

Well, I got lots of loot this birthday. I got my featherbed which is so nice. Hee hee. The bed looks slightly awkward, but it still works for me!

I guess we'll have to close the windows tonight. It's getting mighty chilly in here.

Alright, gotta get ready to hang with Hannah Banana.

Crikey

Well, we had to go away for a few days but things are ok. I mean aside from Josh not feeling well. He wasn't feeling well before we left, so I guess it's just kicking in.

Busy as a bee packing once again. I was tired earlier, but just can't sleep. Thinking too much can be annoying.

At least someone is

Well, Skittles is having fun with the whole packing thing. She's been playing with boxes or the shredded paper for packing. Josh was having lots of fun today. He played with a roll of fax paper and made 30 foot long shreds of paper. We've got even longer rolls. I fear what I will discover tomorrow!

I've gone pretty gung-ho today. I have most of the entire bedroom done, the living room and the bathroom. I'm being very neat about this and sorting carefully. I figure we'll probably leave around the end of the month. We'll see.

On a break

I'm on a packing break. My hands started smelling too much like dust and cardboard boxes, so I figured I'd wash them and have some lunch. I've got the living room pretty much done. I swear we have too much crap!

I put Josh on paper shredding duty. We have some old and unuseable books that I was going to trash but then like a lightbulb... I realized I could tear the binding off and shred those puppies. Free packing material! Yippee! He's almost on a second squished trashbag full. It's averaging one book per bag which isn't bad. We've got four more books to go. We should be pretty golden then.

Ok, off to get some fud.

Making waves

It's freezing in here. Grrr. Josh is still asleep, that's how cold it was. I've just turned on the heat. First time this year. Gotta love the smell of burnt dust in the morning. If freezy pants would get up, then we could go to Dunkin Donuts and get something warm. We're pretty much out of all things with the "c" word. Ooh, the heat is making him sneeze, he's up. Yippeee!

We're on a quest for more boxes today. We've got so much crap that last night I filled eight boxes while watching CSI: Miami. side note: I know they are trying to make it different from the original, but the whole awkward lighting thing on the show is starting to get to me.

So good old wil has pretty much summed up my thoughts regarding the vote made last week in this entry. If it was going to be effective and there was really a reason, ok, I understand, but there are definately other things that need to be tackled first!

Ok, time for D&D.

Flashbacks

Josh and I went to pick up a birthday present for lil' Hannah Banana. I don't really call her that, I just like referring to her that way when I write something. Her party is tomorrow afternoon (it's Columbus Day holiday).

We listened to Bjork's Telegram. I had flashbacks to VSU. I believe I bought it when it came out on one of the shopping walks that Calhoun and I used to take to the mall. Bjork was Sunday morning music, Pigface and the like were Saturday morning music. The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack was anytime music! /sigh

Ok, time to do something productive. I'll balance my checkbook again. I think that might be productive.

A little less conversation

I've got the JXL vs Elvis: A Little Less Conversation stuck in my head along with a medley of songs from Moulin Rouge.

So Josh and I finally watched Black Hawk Down. I didn't realize how many known actors were in that film. It was a good film, but I couldn't watch it more than a few times. It's too tough on the emotions. At least I think so.

I'd never, ever used a sleep aid until last night. I decided to take some Nytol. With the weather being as fickle as it is my sinuses/allergies have been acting up and I haven't been able to sleep well. Last night I slept straight until 7:45am! I only woke up then because Josh's parents were getting up to get ready for the airport. I don't plan to use them tonight, but that all depends on whether my sinuses calm down enough for me to get to sleep.

Brittany called me tonight and she updated her journal to let me know she finished her book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's 752 pages, so it's taken her a while to read it. I mean she has school and a social life you know! She was a little upset she said. Now she has to read the boring books that they make her read at school. Poor baby!

Shalyn let me know that she couldn't find the site that Brittany was on that had all of the shoes. I'll tell you, that kid has one heck of a shoe obsession.

AJ informed me that he wasn't eating but the fish were fed. He is only two you know. For some reason he didn't want to talk to Josh. Maybe next time he will.

Well, Josh is getting our injectors tested. Hopefully they will come back fine. /sigh

Yesterday I saw someone that looked a whole lot like Guy Pearce.

taxes suck

My sister in law sent me to this story. Yeah, taxes suck. Hee hee

Posted by miftik at 10:29 AM

No really

Skittles decided that she needed to sleep under the blankets and then decided to hog the bed, so I'm out here. I've actually been forced out of bed by my cat! That's crazy.

I've come to believe that when the temperature in the warmest part of the house is in the 60s, it's time to close some windows! I put on wool socks I got so cold. It's somewhat of a pain to open and close the windows (they are six feet across and eight feet high) so we either leave them closed or leave them open and deal with it.

We drove far today. We drove until we were about twenty miles from Quebec. My sinuses were killing me though. It was so cold and dry. I remember one of the banks in the sun read 54 degrees. Umm, yeah.

Just over one week until I turn twenty-five. I don't feel old, but I sure do feel tired. I don't have anything big on my list of things to do before I die. Sure, having a child and watching it grow up would be nice but if that isn't to be I think I would settle for watching each of my nieces and nephew (nephews-thinking ahead) graduate high school and college or them doing what they want to do in life. I've already done my traveling. The people I care about know that I care about them. I've done my share of winter and summer sports. All this is not to say that I would be fine dropping dead next week. I'm sure that as time goes on, new things will be developed, discovered etc and I will find something else that I want to do or somewhere I want to visit. (If they ever find Atlantis, I'm there!)

Oh wait, there's one thing that I haven't done that I have wanted to do for a long time. Rule the World. Yes, even my mother can vouch for that. She came home one day to find me screaming at my brothers, "One day, I'm going to rule the world!" I guess I have been ambitious for years. At least I rule my own world. That's close enough.

In other news... the multimedia fridge!

My Precious.

I converted the wav file from warofthering.net to an mp3. I've gotten Gollum's voice down pretty well. Well enough to frighten some folks actually.

Books

Birthday wishes.... (hint hint Josh)

Books by Viggo Mortensen. I was on another site and saw some snippits of all of his books. Tonight I started looking up to see if they were still available. I really liked Recent Forgeries, SignLanguage, and Coincidence of Memory. Hole in the Sun just hasn't done it for me. Thankfully there are publishers who sell online! Yippee! Oh yeah.. for those who didn't know... I was an art nerd when I was younger.. I still enjoy art today.

Don't blame the mp3s

Hey music industry... Don't blame mp3s for the decline in sales... blame yourself! If I like a musician or a group of musicians... I buy the CD... only if it is reasonably priced!

Falling

Well, my thumb is still hurting and you can see the place it bent back. It doesn't look bad, but it hurts like a you know what. Mom is ok too. The swelling has gone down on her wasp bite. That's good.

Skittles has made camp in some paper the store used to wrap some glass. I think she thinks she is a hamster.

Slightly bored, so I played with the pencam a little.

bored us

That's me sitting in the living room and Skittles sleeping in the paper. Made it small for loadings sake.
