Those sheep

I have to get one of these Serta counting sheep. They are so cute. A little late to order for Valentine's day, but it would make a great gift just to show you care. Hint Hint my husband.

More and more

Everytime I move, I discover something else I hurt in my fall. My knee is hurting a lot, but it's not swollen nor bruised. This really sucks.

I have apparently not been making sense for the past few days when I talk to people, so umm, if I've emailed you or talked to you in the past week or so, I'm sorry and I don't really remember much of anything I've said. Sorry.

Sweet and now so sweet

Sweet... They might add a preview to the end of the fellowship for the towers! Sweet!

"New Line, Tuckerman said, is planning ''at some point in time to add (additional footage at the end of Rings that) will be a lot longer than a trailer, but I don't know how much longer. We're going to give (moviegoers) a preview of (the second episode of Rings). We're going to change the last reel out and do a preview of Two at the end of the last reel. (People) are screaming for it.''

When would New Line do this? ''I'm sure (it would be) after the Oscars are voted and the ballots are done,'' Tuckerman said. ''I'm pretty certain we'll end up doing it.''

"

And in not so sweet news, I am still sick and last night wasn't good. Something happened that caused me lots of bumps, bruises, and scrapes. I couldn't stand up and well.. I fell down and fell down hard, hitting things (and breaking things) along the way. I'm ok. Josh came in and made sure I wasn't dying. I'm aching though. Holy smokes am I aching. I felt so awful last night I didn't even get a chance to do the bills, so they could possible be a day or two late. I don't think I will be penalized for that though. Thankfully. Mom, don't worry, I'm OK!!! I actually feel better today than I have for a while. I just need some of those tissues with aloe. I finished the last box and really need more.

Also, if anyone I knew from H.S. is reading this, you can contact me, it's ok. Plenty of other have.

Are they ok

Something is up with The Pauls at CNN. They are giving quite a few good reviews to movies which is REALLY abnormal for them! Very Strange.

Oh and Happy Birthday James!

Interesting...

Now, This is interesting. Was it really suicide or was it something else? Hmmmmmmm...

Still feeling icky, I'm currently the only person here from the web department and since I'm a contractor, I can't even do anything to the live website if needed. Oi. Everyone is out sick. I'm sick too, but I really want to get what I can do, done. I'm one commited soul. Josh was mad as heck with me for wanting to go work.

Asterix

This is interesting. I don't know how many people in the US know Asterix. I still have my Asterix books from when I was a kid. Man, I loved those books growing up! I am pretty fond of them today too!

Still sick, voice is slightly back, coughing is work and my co-worker that is out sick has pneumonia. Oh the joy. I think I'm going to be sick now.

Birthdays and sick again

Well, I got sick. Lately I thought it was just me working too much (these 15 hour days are killing me) but it would appear from the fact that I have almost no voice, a sore throat, a fever, and shivers, I'm sick. This sucks.

I totally missed sending Calhoun his birthday goodies, same for Nita. James' birthday is tomorrow, but there is NO way I can make it. I had a hard enough time getting into work today. I know Josh wanted me to stay home, but getting this done is important. I only need to work a total of eight hours this week (technically less than that, but that's another story), so after noon, if I decide to pass out on the floor here, it's not going to affect my schedule.

Ok, time to get back to work. I managed to just finish one section and it's only 8:10ish est! Cool.

Sleepy late night

I'm sleepy, I just got home about 20 minutes ago. I for some unknown reason installed the latest security patches for outlook and now I can't get it to open correctly. Thank goodness for pop mail! I'm going to bed now!

You're alive, this I know

My friend, you are alive and we are happy. If you don't want to have anything to with us, that's ok. If you do, you know you can email, call or come over anytime. We are just happy you are ok.

It's Library

It's LibRary, not libary. For crimeny's sake, if you are going to pretend to be all prim proper and snobby, at least get your basic pronunciation correct! Sorry, There is someone here that I keep hearing say libary and it's killing me.

In other news, Amazon turned a profit finally and Kmart is filing for bankruptcy. See, Walmart IS evil.

Money Mismanaging

Ok, anyone who goes and purchases one of these needs to learn how to manage money. I'm sorry, but you don't stay rich my spending your money on $20,000 cellular phones and you don't look cool with them. I think that is one of my problems with some of the musicians lately. Lease everything to make yourself look flashy. Sheesh. My family wasn't financially hurting growing up and the flashiest thing I liked was my DMs! Shoes, that around 10 years later I still have (and some I can still wear)!!

I'm not cheap, I'm just sensible!

Something troubles

There is something about Hamid Karzai that troubles me. I can't explain it.

I can't sleep, mainly because Josh is awake oh and I've become entranced by watching episodes of Trading Spaces! I must say, I do like Paige Davis much more than evil old Alex McLeod (read McLOUD). She came off quite standoffish and well, snobby. As a host, that's not a good thing. There seems to be some good vibes going with Paige there. Oh gord, I'm becoming a sidebar tv critic. Quick someone stop me! Oh look, Skittles is trying to save me. She is rummaging through some junk that is going to be thrown away!

Get it overwith and they're bought

Ok, let's get it over with. The Globes were interesting, they were strange, they... were. LoTR didn't win, but it was the Globes, as we have all seen, it's not a big deal. The laptop is coming along. I am going to sleep soon. I got my email up, which was the most important at this point and time.

I purchased some nifty things from Amazon today. Let's see...

I bought two collectors editions:

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

I also bought some paperbacks:

The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Boxed Set and The Silmarillion

(so my husband can read them and we don't fight over them).

I hope to get them in a few days. I paid for second day delivery, mainly because it was only a few dollars more in the end!

A Corky Double Dose

Well, The Stand is on and one channel up I Know My First Name Is Steven is on. Appearing in both movies is, Corin "Corky" Nemec. Corin (Corky) also appeared in Foreign Correspondents along with everyone's favorite celebrity blogger, Wil Wheaton. When I was quite young we had to write letters in school. I had a whole list of people to write to. On that list included Corin Nemec and Lukas Haas. After I wrote them, I found in my mailbox one signed postcard from Corin Nemec and a week later a letter and a picture from Lukas Haas. The letter was cool because it actually contained information that I had requested. Don't worry I wasn't me asking all weird questions. I had asked about a charity that I was interested in learning more about.

Isn't it fun having childhood flashbacks? I'm also reloading my laptop. So far I've discovered that IE 5.5 SUCKS. It's the only program I have installed and I'm having problems. That kind of helps me analyze the situation some. So I am uninstalling it and will install something else. It's frustrating. If it wasn't for the need for certain windows applications, Linux would be an option (I can hear my husband gasping in excitement and shock now).

Me and my machines

Well, I figured out a few things today. My desktop's cd burner doesn't like good blank cds. It prefers the cheaper ones to the nice "expensive" ones (that I ended up getting cheaper than the "cheap" ones). I am too tired to really even think about why this is so. I also learned that I need to reload both my desktop and my laptop (the one I use all the time). I have a feeling I'll be doing that tomorrow. Consecutive loads, that should be interesting. I've also decided I won't be installing 2000 back on my desktop. It is way too annoying. I had installed it to stay on the same level as work, but, well,

I found some great prices on round trip tickets to go visit my family. The only problem is work and whether I will be a full fledged employee or not. It does make planning ahead difficult. Especially when the ticket is only $108 roundtrip to go from the north to the south. The typical price is about $250. Heck, at that price, I'd almost be willing to pick up my niece and bring her back for a week or something. She'd love that. Snow. Of course after the first day of realizing it gets cold in the snow, she would be ready to go.

In other news, I've lost the serial number for photoshop 6. Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of bad numbers out there, but this was a real one and I would like to find it. I'm just writing it on the cd this time.

Olden days

Back when I worked at the tv station, I maintained the Megan's Law Sex Offender's list. That was one heck of a list. The information had to be compared manually because we were not allowed to get a database from the police. They don't even have the list at the tv station anymore. They probably couldn't get anyone to maintain it! People were PISSED when we took it down because it was being phased out (because I was leaving). They brought it back and made someone else maintain it for a month. Now it's gone, gone, GONE! I think I may have a copy of a database I made of it. I don't remember. Who knows.

For my peeps, not for the bunnies

So, those who know what my server holds, there's lots of new stuff moved on to it. If you don't remember how to get to it, email me, I won't mind. For those who don't know what is on the neato server, umm, my lips are sealed. I still haven't moved everything over there but I may finish by the end of the week, may.

The cable modem was on the fritz a little while ago. It gets annoying. I have links to link to, but I'm tired. Tired, tired, tired.

Icky Pains

I had an icky pain just a little while ago. They were the symptoms of essentially, a heart attack, but I think it was more of a muscle thing for me. My arm is killing me. I'm going gung ho with work, but stopped for a bit because my eyes were hurting. At least this I can type without having to stare at the screen.

The parking lot here at work is totally iced over. If I had wanted to, it was very possible to have put on some ice skates and skated from the car to the lawn! Nice plow work buddies!

overwhelming

Well, for some reason I feel this overwhelming sense of something like sadness. I don't know how to describe it actually. I don't feel well physically. This weather lately has done a number. The air has been so dry that I'm getting nosebleeds constantly in addition to headaches. That's what I get moving from an extremely humid climate to here!

I've decided to make a little page for all of those cheesy online tests. I've found some really stupid ones and some really funny ones. More on those another time. I feel the need to rest.

dreams and work

I can't remember much from my dream from last night, just that it was very emotional and involved friend(s). Work is being work. My poor husband is sick and is still getting called, since the others are currently "working from home" or coming in later. Ugh. I hope Josh gets better soon.

Joining of minds and stuff

I saw a news blurb this morning that Gavin of Bush popped the question to Gwen of NoDoubt and she accepted. If they have kids, that kid will probably be extremely beautiful and talented. They've got good voices and looks, so let's hope it passes on!

nine loads a washin

I have just finished putting away the last of nine loads of laundry. I have another two or so to do, but I am way to tired to do them right now. It's all linens. Lots and lots of linens. I bought new towels and stuff, so I washed them to get as much of the dye out as I could. Now all I have are a few sheets and blankets to go! Yippee. That's tomorrow. I am so tired right now that I will probably fall asleep in minutes.

Me and my spoon

I have a favorite spoon. I don't know where it came from, but I've had it forever. I took it with me when I went to college and I brought it along the rest of the way too. Everyone who ever uses it knows exactly what I mean by it being a good spoon. It's got a nice and simple shape, it's strong and the shape of it is just right. It's strange, but it's great! I have yet to find anything else like it. I don't have a set of them, I just have the one spoon. When Josh and I went looking for new flatware, I went in search of something like my spoon. I noticed most of today's flatware is based on appearances. I was quite disappointed. The closest I found was Henckels Pavillion. It's close, and it's sturdy, but it's still not the same as my spoon. We bought a set of those for now. I've resorted to looking in flea markets and thrift stores. It's easy enough to sterilize them, it's not a big deal, I just want more of my spoon!

mucked about

Well, apparently whilst I was away for the holidays, something on my databases at work got mucked about. They completely don't work now. It's a little annoying, but I think I can fix it. I hope I can.

Josh and I were given one of those wireless keyboard and mouse get ups and I am using it. I think Josh would have thrown this thing across the room by now. It's got the natural keyboard layout, so I'm constantly trying to press blank spaces. Ugh.

I came home early today, Josh and I. We are both sick. It sucks. I feel better after a nap, but I'm still not feeling in top form. Ugh.

James dadgumbit

Ok, we think you are alive, actually I'm pretty close to figuring that you are, since I've put my pawns out to search for any unidentified males showing up in the morgues around the country and well, no one matches your description, thankfully. Well, you probably hate us or something, I hope not, but I don't know. I just hope you are ok and happy. You CAN still email me and Josh you know.

Oh, Al Roker has a journal online. Cute stuff, sad stuff, Al stuff! Al is so darn funny.

Unpacking

Oh the fun of unpacking, especially when doing it while you are sick!

So much stuff. I bought enough material to make curtains. Twenty-eight yards of one particular fabric and assorted other amounts of other complimenting fabrics. Now of course, I don't know when I will get a chance to make my curtains. Each window needs a total of eight yards (four yards for each side - big windows). I think I'll be busy the next few weekends.

I bought some new towels for the house that aren't green! Everything we have is green, forest green. I'm trying to slowly bring other colors in. The windows are going to be a sage/white pattern with assorted other goodies. The nice thing about the curtain lengths is that I can use them if we ever move, just shorten them up!! I'm just glad I can sew.

Celebrity Websites

I was thinking about something. How many celebrities have "manufactured" websites (the plug in names etc here kind) and how many have more personal/handmade sites? So I have begun searching.

I have started with the cast of the Lord of the Rings because I know a couple of the actors have sites. Let's begin.

Ian McKellan/Gandalf - Quite personal and up to date. An unmanufactured site.

Elijah Wood/Frodo - Personal but not up to date. Elijah was adorable as a kid and if he was ten years younger would have made the best Harry Potter. Also not a manufactured site.

Dominic Monaghan/Merry - The best I could come up with was an online stat sheet from his reps.

That's it from the Rings folks. Quite saddening actually. Oh well, on to more celebrity sites. I'm just going to go down the list and stop when I get tired.

Alec Baldwin - Not very up to date, manufactured, but at least it's not all flashy and weird.

Ok, bad idea. I am finding redirects out the wazoo and pop ups galore. Celebrities, if you can't do it, you need to get someone building your websites and you need to keep them up to date!!!!
