MTV has turned twenty. I don't know if that's a big deal or not. I've given up hope for that channel. Once they stopped showing real videos on 120 Minutes, I stopped watching it. It appears that they don't even run 120 Minutes anymore. I guess everyone who watched it in the beginning watches M2. Of course we don't get that up here, so go figure. I still have my tapes of 120 minutes, so it's not a big deal. I have lots of old tapes with lots of old shows :) I should encode them and burn them all onto cd. Just to have. I think I even have episodes of Clarissa Explains It All. Eeek. Oh well. I'm showing my age.
I found out today that one of my two favorite waitresses quit. She didn't tell anyone why, she just quit. I really think she was unhappy in her current life situation. That's too bad. She deserved a lot better than what she was getting. I really hope she is ok. I'll miss her.
Mr. a/c man has come and gone. We had a blockage. He got the nitrogen and went to work. I could smell the nitrogen (or rather the difference in the air) and boy was that weird. But I'm happy and the a/c is feeling good. Yipee. Three cheers for the a/c man!
Alas, now I think I will attempt to catch up on my sleep. A certain little kitty wouldn't let me sleep last night, nor this morning. I think I have had about three hours of sleep. I recall seeing light outside, so it could be less. Goodnight!
Yesterday was a busy day full of tinfoil. I covered my hutch with tinfoil and colored foil origami paper. It's all using repositionable adhesive, so I can trash it if I want and it only costs about $8 to do it all. Cheaper than paint and easy to change!
Hopefully the A/C guy will come today. I called at 9:30AM and they said they will try to get someone out today. Please let them come. It's supposed to start getting warmer tomorrow and I don't know if I can take it! I'm weak, very, very weak. Oh Sweet A/C Bob's of the sky! They called and said the tech will be here today. Yipee! Maybe I can get it all fixed, then turn on the A/C,cool down the house, and go get some lunch as the house cools down. That way when I get home, it should be nice and comfy in the house.
I finally got the 13th card. Sweet! All of them are gold, gold, gold! Yipee. I actually got it a while ago, just got busy and forgot to post it. I even forgot to post it in the previous post. Wow, lots of notes for today. I feel so spiffy, sort of.
I was just kicked out of my living room by my own husband. How's that for gratitude! Men! He's working on his airplane and I guess I take up too much space. Last time I checked I wasn't that big! Sheesh. How insulting. Grrrrr.
The youngins are asleep. Josh and Skittles that is. It should make for an interesting night then. I'll only let them sleep a few hours.
I haven't gotten any work done. Josh needed help, so I helped. Hopefully I can get some done now, however I'm kind of hungry. I made chili the other day, but I am REALLY sick of chili right now. I wouldn't mind something from the India Palace or heck even Cactus Jacks. Just something different. I need some variety in my food. Something, anything.
I've noticed that a few websites are down. I wonder if it's related to the blogathon or what. Who knows. You just have to make sure you have a good host. Hosts are important, as is hosting.
Josh is watching Rugrats (I think he can't find the remote, but he doesn't really mind) and I'm watching Rock & Roll Jepoardy. I am not sure which one I prefer, regular or Rock & Roll. I like Rugrats too though. Maybe I'll change the channel. I don't know.
I think I'm going to go do some work now. I have a comfy chair that is actually good for my back! I'm motivated. I figure if the "kiddies" can all take part in the 24 Hour Blogathon I can at least get something done on some of my work projects. Go Go Motivation Mode.
Hee hee, I'm typing this from nice new and comfy chair. It's somewhat like the old one, except they made a few design improvements. Let's see if my husband tries to steal this one from me. That's what happened before. He has what was supposed to be my chair, and I ended up with his. All I can say is, "You Ain't Getting This One!" I seem to end up with his hand me downs. At least my laptop wasn't a hand me down. That was brand spankin new. Even has that new computer smell. They should make that scent!
I discovered the Human Clock recently. I am probably going to submit some pictures of Skittles and the SockPuppet and possibly of the TDI. I figure the tdiclub would get a kick out of that. Maybe.
Time to break in my new chair. What fun.
I must say, it's time for a new chair. The lift is gone from this one. It's the 2nd oldest chair in the house, so it's about time. The oldest is a folding chair we never use, so it's got life in it still. Time to head to the bank, then somewhere to get me a chair! Later today or possibly tomorrow hopefully, Planet of the Apes with James.
It's about 60 something degrees outside, so I have the windows open. There is a crow outside. There is a mother and her child outside too. The child is imitating the bird. It is very cute. You have to love the carefree and innocent nature of children.
I was hoping to see Planet of the Apes today, but alas, I've decided to see if James wants to go with me. Joshua doesn't. No matter what, I plan to see it sometime this weekend. It might have been a good thing that I didn't go. I have had a horrible head/neck ache all day and I think that would have ruined my mood for the movie.
I decided to see if I could collect all of the gold trading cards on the Planet of the Apes website. I've gotten all of them except the Ape Mythology one. I can't find it anywhere. It's the only one I'm missing! I did a search to see if anyone if anyone had the card, and it appeared that very few do. It's not like the world will come to end if I don't get it, but once I got all but one of them, it got involved. It's kind of like playing cards against the computer. You don't really care, but the closer you get to winning the more you care. Oh well. Maybe I'll find it later.
Anyone know anything about Air Conditioners? It would appear we have a slight or rather not so slight problem with our leaking/building up too much condensation. What fun. So I'm sore and tired and ticked off about it all. My head is hurting. I think I'm going to go to bed now.
I just got back from the store and bought myself some hapi snack crackers. You have to love that stuff. I was addicted to them for years. My mom used to send them to me while I was away in college (they were no where to be found in that town). Leave it to my ma' to keep my addiction fed. I love my parents! If I get addicted again, I at least know lots of places where I can get them. I imagine it would be better to just buy the fresh stuff from the Saigon Market around the corner. But they look at me weird when I go in there. I like the Asian Food Market (that's the name) better. The little old man in there is just funny. Plus they have spices that remind me of my dad cooking. All else fails, there's always the Ethnic Grocer. They're pretty cool.
It's 11:30 in the morning and the current temperature is 63 degrees fahrenheit. The AC is off and the windows are open. Let the cross breeze begin! I feel like going back to sleep though. Hmmm. That's an idea...
I just looked at the IRS statement telling us how much and when we will receive our tax refund and I just realized we are getting it real soon! Cool! Of course it's already spent with Josh's new airplane, but hey, at least I don't have to pay any interest on the credit card! That's cause to celebrate.
I was flipping through the channels and came across MTV. They were actually playing a video and that video was, the Smooth Criminal remake by Alien Ant Farm! Hee Hee Hee. It was just funny. Tons of takes on Jackson videos.
It's coming soon. Planet of the Apes... the Tim Burton version! Hee Hee Hee. The set design, the costumes, the action sequences, sheesh. I am quite excited. Happiness. I just needed to let this be known.
My dear husband is watching Top Gun right now. This means he probably can't find the remote and is busy doing something else. Normally it wouldn't be a bother, but it's up kind of loud!
Whenever I see Tom Cruise I am reminded of someone I knew in college in Georgia, Greg Tyre. I don't remember if that is the exact spelling, but it's something similar to that. This guy looked so much like Mr. Cruise during the Risky Business days that it was scary. Anyway, he was a good guy. I believe his brother was a minister. I think we had history and philosophy together. The other Greg and Kelly were my partners in history class. Flashbacks, oh know.
So I went to Toys R Us today and my dearest husband would not let me buy anything for myself. I got some of the things I needed and we left. There were so many cool toys on clearance. I should have gotten some stuff for my mother too, but I didn't get to. She would have had a blast in there.
It's not like there was never anything happening before, it's just that they are making a big deal about these types of things now.
Things only become noticed when someone uses it as fuel for the fire of their cause. That's all
I'm so sappy. I just finished watching Music from Another Room with Jude Law. It's so cute and sappy, you can't help but watch it.
I recall having a discussion with about whether Jude Law would make a good 007. I think he would, but I think Christian Bale (with his American Psycho cover cut facial features looks) would make a better Bond, at least visually. They are both good actors though, so that's a toss up.
I've been seeing lots of free videos for "The life of Christ" lately. Lots of religious commercials in general. I love how the church gives in. What's even better is when they decide to run the ads. They tend to do it during the soaps. I guess they figure, let's get them while they are lusting. Or something like that.
Ugh. Yippee, we're getting $600 back from the IRS. We also got the power bill today though too. I could have sworn deregulation was supposed to lower our rates. Ours keep going up. What's up with that? Sheesh.
I've been getting some really bad tingling in my right arm and hand. I'm keeping an eye on it. It's not just when I'm on the computer that it does it. I'm trying to keep track of the other "feelings" I have at the same time, so incase it's something more serious, I will be able to let someone know. Yeah, health stuff, ain't it fun.
I think I'm going to go finish working on the Empire's stuff. I'm pretty close to done. That's a good feeling.
I really don't like travelling. We drove all the way home from VA yesterday. Eleven and a half hours in the car with two 5 minute stops for the bathroom. I was feeling horrible the night before we left and it was up in the air as to whether we would actually leave in the morning. I decided to toughen up and make the ride home. I missed my cat and I missed my bed. There is just something nice about sleeping in your own bed. I still don't feel up to par though. My voice was going in and out around New Jersey. That was not fun.
I was hoping to have my aunt and cousins up, but alas, I don't want to give the youngins a cold or whatever bug I had. I feel congested right now and have been feverish. Maybe we can get together next week. I always catch stuff when travelling. That bites.
I think it's time to sleep.
The sky is blue right now. It was rather grayish earlier today. I am once again coming to you from my laptop. My dearest husband has hijacked my computer in an attempt to get me to play an online computer game. I prefer the smash em up time. Which reminds me, I should probaby install quake on here. That would be super sweet.
I have this small rubik's cube that I work on every so often. I used to be pretty good at them. I seem to have forgotten a lot. This one is so small that I get hand cramps after about 2 minutes of turning. Is that bad or what? Damn carpal.
I tested my blood sugar earlier, after dinner. It was quite low for that time. I could tell. I could feel it.
Josh must have had a rough day. He came home grumpy. Poor baby. He just needs some sleep. We all need sleep. I would like a nap, but I shall refrain. It is too late to take a nap. I shall just turn in early in a few hours.
Well, my laptop has arrived and I'm using it. I actually got it yesterday and have been playing with it a lot. It's quite comfortable. It's ever so zippy as well. We were going to get her some more memory too, but it's on back order... Everywhere!
My mom has been getting into watching these auction shows. I like them too, but some of them annoy me a lot. I'm going to start noting which ones for her to watch. Also, her PBS doesn't show Antiques Roadshow as much as our does. It seems like it's on daily here, but it's only on once a week at my parents. Weird.
Well, I shall go now. I'm not sure what we are doing today for the 4th. I think I want Tex/Mex for dinner. I don't feel like cooking. Hmmmm
Wow. It is noon and it hasn't even hit 60 degrees today. This was all quite sudden. They mentioned the temperature might go down a little, but this is more like a lot!
I was thinking of something. Everyone always jokes about our home network and how we have computers in all the rooms except the bathroom. I wonder if this is waterproof too. That would be quite nice if it was. I could then put it in the bathroom!
My new laptop is projected to arrive tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm hoping there is no problem with it. I'm debating whether to load Windows98 on it or keep WindowsMe on it. I am seriously considering putting 98 on it. I hope Josh doesn't want to take it with him to "test" it out. Like he did when I first got my previous one. He started taking it to work for emergencies. He saw it more than I did! Men.
Well, on that note. I think I shall go eat something for lunch.
It's been forever since I've posted. I am sorry. Plain ole' sorry. So much is going on. Well, so much that has taken me away from home. I went to visit the folks for two weeks. I managed ok.
I have ordered my new laptop and expect it to arrive Tuesday. I think hope is a better word. I also bought myself a few things from my gifts page. I need to take them off. The new Barnes and Noble carries some of the stuff, so I went ahead and picked some up.
It's thundering something fierce right now. I have to figure out how to get the cat away from the window. I could bribe her with food. That always works.
Many sites have been closing doors lately. Well, for the past six years, miftik has always kept her doors open. In some for or another, I have had my personal website. It's gone through many changes. That's ok. I wonder if my husband will ever do something with his page. I don't think he's updated it in about two and a half years. I finally broke down and updated that we got married and that was over two years ago!
I think it would be best if I removed myself from any electrical objects. The thundering is getting closer and louder. I thought maybe it was a car or two back firing. I don't think so any more. Not unless they have thunderbolts sending bright lights across the sky too.
