Apparently there was no vandalism etc by the Clinton Administration after all! Let's see how long it takes for the news shows to cover that one!
The spy plane crew is getting medals... why? It upsets me because of the people who fought and died in previous wars that weren't given medals of honor. They did the most honorable thing, they died. What act did they perform that was so great to make them deserving of such a thing? Crimeny. This is the reason why I couldn't continue in politics. My temper and aggrevation with society. Grr.
My grandfather is in the hospital. He is said to be doing ok, but I don't know what to think. My uncle found him in his office doubled over, unconscious and soaked in sweat. They say it appears to be either a stroke or a very bad infection. They are leaning towards the infection because the tests appear negative for the stroke. He has had a stroke before, that is why we are so worried.
I am going down in about a month. I am wondering if I should go earlier. My aunt is going, but I don't want my grandfather to get too irritated with us "kids" doding over him to make sure he is ok. It's our job. They did it to use when we were younger, now we get to payback!!! Well, no matter what I'll be down there in a month to see everyone, so he and my grandmother will have to suffer through some doding from their daughter, granddaughter, two great granddaughters and great grandson. This will be one interesting trip.
Someone remind me to buy a Y headphone jack splitter. I want to keep my nieces busy on the plane by watching movies on the laptop. Either that or I'm keeping them awake all night before we leave in the morning. Which ever seems to work best. Maybe I'll chase them around the airport. That could work too. Hmmmm.. so many ideas!
My niece will probably not return to her dear little elementary school and I am very happy about that.
Apparently there is a horrible little girl who has tormented students in her class as well as the teacher by scratching, punching and hitting them. A few days ago, one incident went a little too far. The seven year old punched the teacher and continued to hit her causing the teacher to fall to the ground and curl up. Being this day and age, the teacher can't do anything to defend herself without getting herself thrown in jail. As the teacher is being hit by the child, all of the children in the class sat in their chairs as instructed to do. My niece, the rebel that she is, decided not to sit and used the emergency phone to call the office. The officials came and dragged the child off of the teacher.
I am so proud of my niece. Sometimes you have just have to do what's right. My brother doesn't want my niece at that school any more. As long as that student is there and the principal does not do anything about it, my niece doesn't need to be there. This little girl has scratched and hit my niece before and the principal has done nothing. If nothing is done after this incident, there is cause for a school board meeting.
In case no one has figured it out, the little girl in the red dress of the current design is the niece I am speaking of. Those are my two nieces and my nephew. They are my munchkins. I love those three so much.
This is just too odd... and funny.
On another note. I got my mp3 cd player and it's GREAT!!! I love it. I'm just totally amazed at this little thing.
I got my glasses today. I didn't realize my vision had gone as much as it had. I was amazed at how much clearer things were. It was just plain weird. Just had to make a quick note of that.
Can someone please tell me what is up with CNN? It's in Spanish! Doh. Josh checked it out and figures it was published to the wrong one (since they have a couple version) Doh. Sucks to work there right now. I got a few screen grabs, so that's ok. Just had to document the moment on the site ;)
Thanks, we really appreciate it!!!!!
I finally got the scripts working. There is much excitement right now in me. That was the big step for me. Now I get to implement my design into it. That will take a while, since I have to work on some witty things. I'm just excited that the scripts worked correctly. I think I'm going to take a nap and enjoy this moment.
Apparently someone thinks I'm a crazy lady!!.... Read On...
So, someone did a random search at google and came across the Skittles cam and posted it on the forums at somethingawful.com. "Some crazy lady videotaping her cat and posting it on the 'net'. " That's what they had to say about me. COOL! It's even better when someone thinks your nuts.
I guess people don't understand it. The camera is for AMUSEMENT PURPOSES.. sheesh.. We love our cat, but come on. I don't have an altar to Skittles nor do I shower her with gifts. She is our baby, yes, because we don't have any kids. We don't "Spoil" her, but you got to admit, this is one goofy cat. She just acts weird, weirder than weird. The cameras are there to capture this weirdness. Ah, kids, they'll never grow up. Oh well. All I can say is... at least my darlin little cat is pretty DARN popular around the world.
This bites. I'm awake. I am kind of tired, but I can't sleep. I can't stand it. I keep thinking of things. Things that make absolutely no sense. It's my body's way of telling me "no beddy-by for you." Sometimes my body just sucks.
I found a GREAT ZDNet article today. It's about websites using Flash and essentially not understanding how to use it properly. I was so happy to see that article. I sent my resume to a company once a long time ago and they told me they really wanted someone who could do "neat things" with Flash. It was then that I knew I didn't want to work there. I've seen some of the sites they have done. All I can say is, "pheew."
I had a little set back today. I've been working on a site and something that I was so on the ball with, went wrong. Now I've got to go back to the drawing board. It's not a personal site or anything. It's a work site. I think I have found something that will work. It's a bit more complicated, but it seems more secure and stable. I like that. That's life I guess.
This of course means that things of the personal nature (my sites) will take a back seat. At least this site I'm working on will be nice for my portfolio. I've got complete freedom. I don't take too much advantage of that.
I was looking at some pictures yesterday and one reminded me of a memory from my childhood. I've been inspired. I've got some pictures of some areas of the middle east. I was even more excited when I discovered the most beautiful photograph of a camel. I had flashbacks with that one ;)
Jamie called me last night. I was shocked to hear from her. So much has gone on in the past few months that I haven't really talked to anyone other than my family and a few friends who live nearby. She is doing well. Happy newlyweds still. They are in the process of building a new home. It is a planned home, but it sounds nice. I am too picky to ever do that. I already have about 1/2 of our "oneday" home built in my mind. No, I have not picked my palette yet. :)
Skittles would not let me sleep last night. I am so tired and therefore will be heading to bed very soon. I have attempted to keep her awake the entire evening. I am hoping that will help her sleep through the entire night. My mother laughs and says I sound like I have a newborn in the house. I feel like it, except this one won't be taking care of me when I grow old! I love her, but I need my sleep little kitty.
On a happy/not-happy note, I have found a beautiful notebook for the price I want to pay. It's a P3 800, with 128MB RAM, 20Gig HD, 8x DVD, 56K Modem, 10/100, 14.1" and light! Oh, and it's UNDER $1500. It doesn't come with all of the crap bundled software that you typically get charged for... so the price is signifigantly reduced. I might even mention it t my father. They have systems with smaller HDs for quite a bit less. To add a DVD to my father's laptop would run about $400, and for another $400 he can have a kick butt machine. He might be interested, I don't know. I'll mention it to him though. I will, I must!
