Another rogue update

Monday, September 12th, 2005

Rogue in progressMy Rogue is coming along nicely. I’ve had a few errors, but I think I am still doing good. You can see how long it is. I don’t like pullovers to be short, so I lengthened it to my own preferences.

This has definately been a great project. I will probably make another one later. I have figured out where I had problems and know how to fix them for the next go around. I still recommend starting with the sleeves after you have swatched the sleeve cable and hem facing. That will give you plenty of good practice.

Fall 05

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

Well, I’m a little disappointed in the Fall 05 knitty. The only thing I may knit from it is Bubby the bear. I do like Revolution, but it is not something for me. /sigh

Rogue is still going great. I’ve finished the repeats (with extra for length) and am working on the last of the underarm/side chart. Go me! I hope the finish that part by the time I head to sleep tomorrow night!

Wiggle Wiggle

I’m a knitting fool!

I’ve started the pocket. Actually I did eight rows and then went back and picked up the stitches to continue the actual pullover. I don’t want to get confuddled trying to figure out which row of the pocket I am on.

Hrm, now I must go decide whether to continue or go to sleep. Still, I am happy with my progress.

Ahh crap

So in my attempt to try and do three things at once, I have fubared my rogue body. Damnit. It was so bad (dropped stitches etc) that I frogged it completely. I will start again tonight. I am determined. I don’t care what, I’m going to make some sort of progress tonight. Damnit.

More progress

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

I am making more progress on Rogue. I finished the hem facing and managed to get two rows done. OK, so they weren’t very complex rows, but I got them done. I may try to do a little more tonight. I think the fact that all I was doing was knitting and purling turned me off from doing much else.

I’m analyzing the pattern and trying to decide just how many repeats I should do in the middle. I tend to prefer my tops longer than this one is designed to be. I may repeat two extra times. That would add an extra two inches. I think that should be enough.

There isn’t really a need for a picture update because honestly, it isn’t anything exciting. Once I get some of the cables or the pocket (which I still haven’t decided if I want it) done, I’ll take a picture. That is of course if my camera is still working!

At the speed I am getting this done, I may finish it before fall! Go me. I’m going totally gung-ho. I want to get something done for myself. I need to. After this, I am going to make the cigar gloves from the current issue of knitty. Josh can use those for flying. I may have some of the KnitPicks Wool of the Andes left that I can use for it. If I don’t, I won’t be bothered if I have to order more. /wink I wonder if he would like me to knit a hat as well?

Rogue Update II

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Two sleeves knitted. The second one is blocked and drying now. While that was started, I seamed up the first one. I think it is going to be a hair longer than my arms. I don’t mind. My dimensions seem to be on target.

I am going to swatch tonight. My wrist has been bothering me a tiny bit, so I am going to let it rest. I don’t want my gauge to be off.

I think if I do another, I’m going to knit the sleeves in the round. I don’t like seaming.
