Wah

finished footieI finished the footie. It sucks. It is difficult to get on and off my foot because there is ZERO elasticity in this yarn. I will use the second skein for doll clothes. This stuff was good for learning, not for wearing. I will update this entry later with a picture. I’m not even going to go through a materials used list. Screw that.

All in all, it wasn’t hard at all aside from the very tiny needles. I think I will just try my own thing next go around. I know how to do the toes and heels, I should be able to do it.

Sock evidence

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

Well here is the picture of the sock. I have already knit a few more rounds since I took the picture. Maybe I will finish it today.

Waiting

Friday, July 8th, 2005

No yarn yet. Forgive me while I pout. I know I was being overly optimistic hoping it would get here that quick, but a girl can dream. I’ve read on the boards at knittersreview.com that they ship by U.S. mail using the slowest route. Oh well.

The sock is coming along nicely. I have already turned the heel. I am afraid that I may run out of yarn if I don’t make this a short sock. I have another skein for the second sock, but this first skein is running low. I’ll probably just wing it and see how it goes.

I finally remembered to charge the camera batteries (I’ve used up all of the regular batteries too) so I can maybe get a picture of it in progress.

On that note, I’m going to try and get a picture and then maybe work on it some more. I barely touched it yesterday and today. Bad me.

Sockage

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005

I’ve started a sock, finally.

I am using Wendy’s toe-up sock pattern. (If you need a little help getting started, knitty.com has pictures.)

I’m mainly using her pattern because it reads easy, I like short rows and the most important reason is because the pattern as it is written uses the needles I already have. I keep neglecting to get the needles I need for other patterns I was looking at.

I am only about 15 minutes into the sock, but I figured I would at least note that I have actually started the thing!

It’s a hoodie

Friday, July 1st, 2005

It’s a hoodie. I have no clue what that commercial is for, but I remember that line.

I ordered a ton of yarn for the Rogue hoodie. I got Wool of the Andes in fern from KnitPicks.com I figured if I don’t like it or fiubar, it won’t be a fortune in yarn that I have wasted. I will probably use better yarn later. I ordered way more than I need, but if I have other patterns I will use the extra for.

Seeing as I have ordered the yarn, that means I have met my work deadline. Go me!

I also went to wally-world and purchased a new three-ring binder, protective sleeves and dividers. I ran out of room in the binder I was keeping my patterns in. Oh, and they had some cheap sport weight red heart yarn that I want to experiment with. For $1.50, I wasn’t going to complain. It doesn’t seem to be too bad.
