The Birthday Bag
I finished the black bag for my sister in law’s birthday. She wanted me to embroider something on the side, but after I started it I decided it didn’t look too good.
Materials Used:
2 Skeins Patons Merino Classic (black)
US 11 Needles
7″ zipper (may change depending on bag size)
tapestry needle
Process:
Bag body:
Cast on 60.
Knit in St st for 92 rows.
Fold in half and sew up sides.
Handle:
Cast on 6.
Work I-cord to desired length. (I did 60 rows)
Sew handle to bag. Full until desired size/texture. Sew in appropriate sized zipper.
I thought about doing a button closure on it but opted not to because of my nephew’s age and insane ability to find things that shouldn’t go into his mouth.
