Acrylic yarn
When I scored a bunch of yarn at the thrift store, there was quite a bit of acrylic yarn mixed in with the good wool yarn. I have approximately the equivalent of two toy boxes full of just acrylic. Some of it is OK, but there is some in there that are just gawd awful. I think some of it will be used to make critter blankets. Acrylic is best for them, since it can be washed normal.
For the Lion Brand Homespun (acrylic), I am thinking of making the Beret. Brittany really liked it and I told her I might make it, if she behaves this summer. I may also make a triangle shawl, just because I really want to do something with the remaining three or four skeins of Homespun.
I don’t think it is necessarily a good idea to use Homespun for critter blankets. They tend to wear easily and make a mess in the wash. I had to take Skittles’ blanket away because she was kneading and wool sucking it too much. There is too high of a chance for her to ingest it. So it is currently being used for stuffing.
I just want to do something with the acrylic. I’ve given away quite a bit of it, but there is still so much! I really should re-inventory it all. Damn me and my organized ways.
