Make-up bag
My sister-in-law saw the Suki II tote in the Knit Wit Book and wanted something round like it to put her make-up in. I started on it just after the winter holidays and managed to work on it once a week. I finished it in February, a month ahead of the deadline.
I completely guessed on what to do with this thing. I figured that since I would be felting it, it would hide any imperfections. I am actually happy to say that I don’t recall making any imperfections! That is a first.
I decided to try something different when dyeing the bag. I mixed the kool-aid and put it in a spray bottle and slowly sprayed the bag. It made one heck of a mess on my hands, but was I really like the way it turned out.
The white eyelash trim was put on last, after felting. I wasn’t quite sure how it would look, so I made it something we could take off if needed. I just knit 10 stitches in stockinette and sewed it on to the top. The natural curl of stockinette stitch made it really easy to put on.
Apparently this bag has been eyed quite a bit by others. I should make minature ones.
