Trouble

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

In some ways my very long past few days is over. In other ways, it is just beginning. I’m tired and I feel like I have neglected so much at work, though I actually am completely caught up on all of my projects. Well, caught up on my end. I seem to have budgeted my time well. That makes me happy. I have a few things to do tomorrow for the big project I have been working on, but otherwise I will let it go until I get new changes to do.

I’m too tired to write any more. I was trying to be good and write, but I’m REALLY tired right now. It isn’t even 8pm and I am about to go to bed. I’m pathetic.

My Twitter Follows

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

I have decided to post a little about those I follow on twitter. I don’t have that many, so don’t worry, it isn’t a long list! A link to their twitter page is in parentheses.

  • Sam Bradley (samueltwitt1) – Sam is my most recent follow. He is a rather talented musician. I found him via myspace and liked what I heard. I am editing to add that I am greatly amused by the fact that his list of  Twitter followers consist of all females. I have managed to get a few male coworkers to listen to him, but they won’t follow him on Twitter.
  • Stephen Fry (stephenfry) – He is the Stephen Fry. He makes me laugh, what more can I say.
  • John Green (realjohngreen) – An excellent writer and he makes me laugh.
  • Kris (web_goddess) – Kris is Kris. How could I not follow her. I’ve been reading her for what seems like forever.
  • Jenny (ljc) – If you don’t know Jenny, you should. She’s a crafter extrordinaire.
  • kantrip (kantrip) – My dear friend from my freshman year of college.
  • Valermos (valermos) – A college friend. He speaks both geek and funny. Of course we’d know each other!
  • Vonnie (blottedcopybook) – One of my more recent reads, Vonnie keeps me smiling. She’s very creative and sweet.
  • Erika (erikarenee) – I’ve been a reader of Erika’s for a long time. She is a good writer and a good person.
  • Pamela (monkeyjunkie) – She is the first person I ever reached out to and emailed on a whim. I’ve been reading her ever since.
  • Valencia (valenciamusic) – Another Myspace find. Some of their tweets are just beyond silly.

Fictional

  • Digby (deaddogdigby) – Best dead dog!
  • Olive Snook (ittybittyolive) – So small, but so perfect!
  • Emerson Cod (emersoncod) – The most awesome P.I. ever. Oh. He’s fictional too.
  • Charlotte Charles aka Chuck (deadgirlchuck) – She’s dead but has the greatest outfits. Go figure.
  • Ned Piemaker (nedthepiemaker)  – The greatest pie maker ever. He brings dead things back to life!

Space Update

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

So, Josh has put his machine up and is now complaining about the location of his subwoofer (in the way of his feet). Perhaps we should have bought even deeper desks! Now for the server monitor location. Well, he measured the distance between my monitor and the center of the wall. Now both of our monitors are the same distance from the center and the server monitor is supposedly in between us. I’m feeling like it is a lot closer to me than it is to him. I think that has to do with my mouse overlapping with the server keyboard.

Ha, I just measured and he had an extra two inches between his monitor and the server. This has been handled. Good gravy we are dorks.

I’m bad

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Sorry for being so silent folks. The headaches from the extraction went away but then I life’s busy schedule kicked in. Between being busy at work and busy at home, I’ve been spending very little time on the web, and not working.

We purchased new desks and finally got them finished and assembeled yesterday. Josh has not finished setting his systems back up, so when that is done, there will be photos. That will also give me time to decide how I want to set up my side. It appears that my husband is slowly infiltrating the area of “my” desk with the server monitor, keyboard and mouse. Considering I also have the printer on my desk, we’re going to have some space wars in our future.

I’ll win. I’m at my desk more than he is at his. Can’t fight that.

Pack the heat

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

So, for the moment, my headache is gone. What did I do you ask. Well, I packed on some heat. I know I shouldn’t but experience taking a shower revealed that some warmth applied to my head helped. Low and behold, twenty minutes later my headache was gone and I had three cats sleeping on me. The evil princess was fighting me for control of the heating pad. She knew exactly what it was and the awesome power it held. She’s no fool.

So, I’m feeling TONS better right now. I know that can change in a second, but I am enjoying the moment. I am also trying to convince Josh that we need to go purchase saw horses NOW. Since the table we usually use for painting things on, is currently housing a lot of brewing equipment, we can’t use it. Josh wants to purchase some saw horses to use on the desk tops! Of course I want the tops done as soon as humanly possible, so I’m pushing to go now.

Actually, since the store closes in an hour, I should end this entry and push even harder.

Last One Out

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Yesterday I had my last wisdom tooth removed. Yes, they’ve been doing them one by one. I think that my oral surgeon is a sadist or I’m a masochist. Perhaps there is a bit of both.

The strange thing is that my jaw feels fine. It is the rest of my head that is hurting and wonky. My skull feels like it is splitting and my vision feels awkward. I’m not sure what it is all about, but it is so not cool. I’m glad I took off on Monday. I’m going to need it.

While waiting for the fun to begin, I noted my blood pressure. It was pretty low. I was also having fun with the heart rate monitor. I paced my breathing enough to get it low and then I threw it high. The assistant wasn’t liking that, but I wasn’t keen on waiting forever either! Why not have a little fun while I can.

Other than that, things have been pretty normal. Josh and I purchased bits to make new desks, but that’s going to be a while. Josh wants to white wash it and then laquer or resin it. Yeah, it’s going to be a long while for that.

I’ve done little in the way of crafting or anything else really. Aside from work, I’ve been working. I plan to take a break in March. Things should calm down then, I hope.
