Couch Pokitty
My cat is turning into a couch pokitty. I walked into the living room and found her like this. The only thing she was missing was a bowl of milk.

I was planning on attending a talk by Ehud Barak today. Unfortunately, due to their security requirements, I didn’t get to go. I’m not saddened or anything, but I could have gotten 5% extra credit on my exam if I had gone. I think I did fine on my exam, so that’s why I am not peeved. They wanted us there 1.5 hours early for security checks and there was a possible issue of no bags. Seeing as I had no where to put mine, I would have been tsol. Oh well.
Now I have to study for another exam next week. I have an exam each week for the next four weeks, and a paper in between there. Then I have a one week break (maybe) and then it is time for finals! Crap.
Danny Rollings was executed yesterday. I recall the search for the serial killer. That was an interesting time.
Time to reboot. I hate reloading computers.
Strange things in the house of miftik…
I just found the cat and the husband lying on the couch watching a Jackie Chan movie. The strange thing was that the cat seemed just as interested in the movie as Josh was. She’s got her head resting on his leg and is looking straight at the tv with eyes open wide. You’d expect her to be asleep since that is all she really does anymore.
The laptop has been reloaded. It is finally dual-booting. I think Josh may have shed a tear of joy at this, but I can’t be certain. I’m currently loading up some of the software I need. I’m thinking of keeping it basic. Just the stuff for school and maybe entertainment. We were able to recover the data that I feared was lost. Pheew. Including some pics of AJ’s soccer practice.
You know, I really should be either studying or doing homework. It’s for 2 extra points to my final grade, so I might want to at least give it a try. Right?
Giant rubber band plane. Fun.
I had a birthday today. Go me!
My class was cancelled, so Josh and I actually spent the entire day together. We went to yarn stores and I walked away without a single skein of yarn. This newshas shocked a great number of people. I just couldn’t find anything I wanted. I need something new and different. I did buy a few little needle containers, but that’s about it. The rest of my purchases were clothes and then eventually groceries. Josh did find a few different beers.
This was the first time I can remember where Josh and I were actually together on my birthday for longer than a few hours. It was really nice.
Since we’ve been hom I have been studying and I am about to move some lectures onto my shuffle for tomorrow. 5.8 hours worth of lectures. Ick. That will be fun. I’ll fast forward as needed though. Some of the lectures weren’t so great. Thankfully the exam is in the afternoon, so I can study most of the day.
Wish me luck.
My laptop freaked out today. Well, it freaked out so bad that I wanted to throw it off the balcony of the fourth floor in engineering. Of course then I remembered it was still under warranty, but the warranty doesn’t cover being thrown down four stories. So, I waited and toted it around all day. Josh is running some tests on it and so far it is a memory problem. A really bad memory problem.
On the up side, I told Josh that as long as we can recover some of the data off of it, I am more than willing to 1. reload it and 2. set it up to dual boot windows and linux. Yes, I’m crossing over. I’m like Vader. It may take me a while, but I’ll get there. I need Windows for some applications for school, otherwise I would probably think about loading it with just linux.
Oh and to the guys in my comp sec class who think that because I’m a girl I don’t know anything.. I’m in the same effing class as you and I understand what they are talking about. So
In other news, Josh was late to work and I was late to school. I missed my first class, but I’m not heartbroken. I think we just got our tests back and went over them. Honestly, I could do without that test. I know I screwed up and I know that more than likely, it will be the one that is dropped.
So, expect very little from me in terms of posts until I get my laptop back. I’m going to resort to that old fashioned method of pencil and paper for studying. Remember when they used to use that. It was so long ago.
Ok, I’m making a correction. My last post talked about my worst migraine ever. Well, last night was my truly worst ever. This one was accompanied by lots of vomitting. Eeew, I know.
So, I’m starting a food journal. I’ve gotten detailed on it. So much so that when I wrote down that I drank a cup of tea… I wrote down “weak” next to it. I didn’t steep the tea long enough. Oops.
And now I shall complete the tile scrubbing in the bedroom and then do some studying. My life, so exciting.
Oh, Josh said “probably not” to my Saladin idea. Note: I pronounce it more like Salah ah Din. I did propose the name for a future pet. No response on that suggestion.
I’m coming to you live from.. uh, my parents’. I saw a shooting star at Josh’s work this morning. I have only had about two hours of sleep thanks to my worst migraine ever!! I really thought about waking up Josh and having him take me to the hospital. That’s how bad it hurt.
I’m sitting in the basement/first floor of the Math and Physics building for my first class. I am hearing this awful high pitched noise. Of when I finally look up, I realize that I am sitting across from a room marked “Danger: High Voltage” and warnings about seven other possible hazards. Oh, the fun. It could be worse. I could be in the other building where um, it is mostly grad students and more dangerous.
OK, a girl has walked past me twice, and hasn’t asked me where the bathrooms are. I can tell she is looking. They all look like that. There is only one bathroom for women in the building and it is upstairs. OK, hah, she finally asked me. She seemed relieved, well not in that way.
Hrm, I think I am going to go somewhere else. The noise seems to be getting higher. I need to get myself in a good mood because I think I get my math exam back in a little over an hour. Thank goodness I did well on my first one because I know I did horribly on this one. Too many questions (with drawings) for a 50 minute time period.
Maybe I’ll watch some Ren and Stimpy. That always makes me laugh.
Rumor has it that 699 years ago today, on a Friday the 13th, King Philip IV of France had all French Templars simultaneously arrested, charged with numerous heresies, and tortured by French authorities nominally under the Inquisition until they allegedly confessed.
… And it was all done because of money.
Just a little something for all to ponder.
