I feel abandoned. The cat is hanging out in her room on her “princess perch” as I call it. I’ll get a picture of it whenever I get my camera back. Josh has gone to take a nap. We’re both not feeling so well, but I know there is too much to do for me to take a nap.
I need to read, study and do homework in addition to the remaining unpacking that needs to be done. Obviously school was cancelled today. Thank goodness! I’m thinking of taking a break in a minute to go and check the mail. Because of the massive amount of “jungle” in the backyard, I have to walk all the way around the property to get to it. I don’t trust the pathway anymore. Josh said he saw a snake and I would prefer not to encounter it or any relatives today.
Ernesto has been the little storm that didn’t. They are still covering it like it is a cat 5 hurricane or something. Personally, it is driving me a little crazy. We should be getting more rain in the next 12 hours, but we’ve gotten squat in the way of wind. Oh well. At least Josh didn’t get sent out of town. /phew.

Pirate Booty bag! I can think of quite a few folks who would like such a bag…
I think I may have a bus project!

I’m hoping that Ernesto plans to just keep moving away from us. So far the projection has the eye passing us to the east, off shore. I wonder if class will be cancelled? If the winds are above 35 mph, my butt is staying home.
So, keep your fingers crossed that this thing just passes away from all of us!

Its Hurricane Time!!! From the current projections, we’re both east and south of the projected path of the eye. I supposed I should avoid using any of the canned goods, just in case! I think I will go work on cleaning up the garage. We might have to actually park the cars in it.

Instead of going with my plan, I’m sitting here typing this. I have ten more pages to read for my Islam and Its Empires course, to discuss next week. After that I have to review some math, read for computer security, and read for Political Science. That’s my goal for this weekend at least.
Today has been an ugly outdoor day. The ground has yet to dry from the evening. It has been extremely overcast and humid. It needs to just rain and stop teasing. That reminds me of something. I went outside at 5am this past Monday. All of the sudden there was a huge flash of light to the East. There were thunderstorms off the coast, and I could see the lightning from here. I just forget that we are so close to the coast. Oh, I also discovered that are only about three street lights on my entire street! Some side streets don’t have any! Not fun at all.
Oh, NASA has just pushed back the launch due to lightning striking the Space Center. I wonder if I will be able to see it on campus? Hrm, apparently not since I will be on my way home at 4:04pm. Darn.
Oooh, rain is coming. Finally.

I’m done with one class and have a half an hour until the next. I went ahead and bought all of my books. The lines are huge, but it ended up taking me a whopping seven minutes to get all of my books (nine of them) and to check out. They have like fifteen people working cash registers. It cost $441 for all of the books. A lot of the classes are new and are using new books, so I was stuck getting new books. I searched half.com (and everywhere else) and did the math. It was cheaper for once for me to get my books on campus!
I’m going to cross my fingers that my professor in my next class is someone I like. Unless someone tries to get in today, I’m going to be the only girl and I don’t want to be any more miserable.

Found this on livejournal and thought it was a good guide. Last semester I got so frustrated at my instructor that I named all of my variables for one progra, in German. They weren’t very kind words. It is the little things I can do that count.
Oh, interesting bit of information. I am taking a computer security class this semester and out of the 60 people that are supposed to be in the class, I am the only female. Yikes. I’m at least hoping that there are some of the people I like in there. I already know some of the people in there, but they irritate me. I have a feeling they will be even worse this semester.
I ordered a new license. Yeah for the web. Because Josh’s picture is so different, he’s going to go in this week sometime and get a picture taken and license printed.
The cat was very weird last night. I was pretending I was asleep so that she wouldn’t bug me for more food. Instead of just going on her way, she reached up and bopped me three times on the forehead with the pad of her paw. She then turned around and climbed into her bed. I fought off laughing. I think she was seeking revenge for me waking her up constantly yesterday afternoon. At least she didn’t sing for us last night. That would have been three nights in a row. She’s been really weird about sitting in the middle of the great room at night and meowing like a goofball.

Well, I have gone through the last of the boxes. There are still the tubs to go through, but the boxes were the things that suffered the extreme damage.
So far I only have audio cassettes, half of my tea cups, and some papers to add to the damaged list. On another side of the spectrum, I found a corset top that I had a long time ago. Unfortunately, since I have lost weight, it no longer fits properly. I can probably make the adjustments myself, but it was still depressing. I liked that top. I also found a ball gown that is too big for me and Josh’s suit that is too big for him.
I’m surprised a lot more stuff wasn’t ruined considering that this stuff was in storage for nearly four years.
Hrm, must go. Cat has discovered the butterflies hanging around the flowers outside. She’s going nuts.

Apparently the past week has been hotter than today, but it doesn’t feel like it to me. I’ve been working like mad and can actually see the garage floor! I’ve got a pile of stuff that I need to bring in, but I am waiting until I have cooled off enough. If I faint from heat exhaustion, I’d rather wait until Josh gets home. The cat, as skilled as she is, has yet to learn how to dial 911 on my cell phone.
OK, time for a cold bottle of water.

We just go internet… Still moving in.
I smell. So far we have been unable to recover: Stuffed animals from both or our childhoods, a few books, my sacred purple velvet DMs, and a pair of Mary Jane DMs. It has been depressing, but a learning experience.
Back to unpacking.
Where did we get all of this crap?
