Instead

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Instead of being productive and working on my java program, I’m sitting here surfing. At least I found this for Josh. A top-side oil changer! Tons easier than getting the ramps out and doing it. However, the builder in me (and probably Josh) thinks this is buildable. link via a.wholelottanothing.org

I will probably be more productive after my Java class. I have about a two hour span of time to do things. I only have 45 minutes right now. Once I get in my groove, I have to head to class. That just doesn’t work for me.

Get a clue

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

If you take a religions course, you would expect that the students in there are not so narrowminded. Apparently, those would be high expectations. There are a few students in my religion class who are devout Christians. Every time the professor states something contrary to what they have been taught in church, they get all huffy and try to argue with the professor. It is getting extremely annoying now.

This course is based on facts, not philosophy. It teaches you what is true and then you have the option to go on to study the religions further. I’m just getting more and more fed up with the kids in the class that just don’t have a clue.

I at least find amusement in our professor. He is the most un PC professor I have ever met. He teases people, but he does so equally.

So, other than going to that class, I had a quiz that took all of about five minutes. I tried to make it last longer, but couldn’t. One of the questions I’m not so sure of, but I think I got most of them right. My exam yesterday is up in the air. After feeling so confident about the quiz in that class and then doing so poorly on it, I don’t know what to expect.

I have just over two hours until I need to head out to meet up with Josh. Maybe I will find somewhere near food to plug up and surf the net. I’m very behind on the goings-on of the blogosphere… Did anyone die, get fired, get arrested, give birth or go public? That seems to always be the big news. None of that happened here.

Boom Boom

Shuttle landing. Sonic booms … all is well in the space program.

Now let’s just hope I do ok on the mountain of exams I am taking this week. (No, it isn’t finals week yet either)

This sucks

Sweet gravy……
There is the smell of something lovely and buttery floating around. There is a little coffee place around the corner from where I am. Maybe that is where it is coming from. I think I’m going to gain a few pounds just by sitting here and writing this.

Books

Friday, July 14th, 2006

I found the mother of all programming books today along with a few other books at the library. Those babies are mine for the rest of the semester. One is a brand new release and just put on the shelf. Hot stuff! Hopefully they will help me on my way to greatness. Or at least on my way to getting my assignments done in a timely manner.

I’m feeling better today, but I need to go get something to eat for lunch. I’m really happy it is Friday.

Oh and here’s a question. How can you continue to label it breaking news if it has been going on for days? I’m beginning to not even pay attention to the breaking news flag because I see it used so often in local and national news. Breaking news, I ate breakfast today. Breaking news, I bought new shoes. Breaking news, this just in, it’s hot outside!!

Stress

Wednesday, July 12th, 2006

My body is getting mad at me. I have been stressing about a lot of stuff lately. Don’t worry, in a couple of weeks I’ll fess up why. No, I’m not pregnant. It’s been a secret more so that it doesn’t pile on more stress that I don’t need.

We’re doing GUI stuff in JAVA and I actually feel more comfortable with this than anything else. Our final assignment is somewhat of a JAVA GUI replication of a webpage login. Weeee… something I am familiar with. I’ve been checking every hour trying to get the actual project specs, but it hasn’t been posted. I am hoping it will clarify some of the questions I have otherwise I’ll have to ask next week.

I didn’t do so well on my second assignment, but that was done during the burial trip. Nothing like trying to code on a 12 hour car trip. My third assignment was better, but somewhere along the lines I messed up something and my math got wonky. Actually, it just didn’t save properly. I was talking to some folks before class today and they said that their’s did too. Good to know that I’m not the only doofus!

I’ve got a JAVA assignment due on Sunday/Monday and a C program due on Monday evening. Oh and a quiz this Friday, an exam on Monday, another exam on Wednesday and another quiz next Thursday. Busy, just a little. Hence my lack of updates lately. I’ve been spending extra time at school too. I ended up spending 10 hours at school the Friday before last. That wouldn’t have been so odd except for the fact that the only class I had that day was a 50 minute lab.

Aww eff

Sad

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

My dad tried to talk to me, but I was too upset. Germay lost to Italy. There’s nothing you can do. I have to work through this myself… sniff sniff… I think I want to be alone. sniff sniff
