For the love of pete… I need help in Java… right now… any takers?

An Efff

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Holy Eff, my religion class.. the lecture hall seats 400 and the room is nearly full. The teacher doth rock tha socks. The students… nearly all of them are incoming freshmen. I’m talking this is their first semester freshmen!

Brittany is a few states away and how am I supposed to talk to her about the latest in Harry Potter book seven news!?! Poor thing got sick on her way up there. Um, I mean like motion sickness sick. Yep, it was bad.

I was near death without my valut, but I had an emergency Sun Drop with me and that seems to be waking me up.

Off to find a seat and get some religion.

Oh dear

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

I just checked the class list for my religions class that starts tomorrow and discovered that the class has grown from about 20 of us to get this… 240 students! Max capacity. That’s just crazy. I’ve got to get some scantrons (the pink/raspberry/watermelon/rose colored ones). I needed a general humanities class and this one is at least something I am interested in. I have a feeling I will probably be one of the oldest people in the class.

Other than that, I’m keeping really busy with homework and other side things that I am trying to get done. I’m under a lot of stress and just trying to not go insane.

More on that another day!

Not Good

Monday, June 19th, 2006

I’m watching the Togo vs Switzerland on my laptop when I should be studying for my midterm. However, in my defense, I’m not as obsessed with this game as I was with the Brazil vs Australia game.

Note to school

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

Um, note to school schedulers… Could you please try to adjust the schedule so that mid-terms are not at the same time as the World Cup. Thank you. Priorities are in a huge battle right now and concentration is at a minimum.

Update: I’ve given up trying to study until this game is over. It is nearly impossible to concentrate on studying while screaming at the tv.

Prep

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

OK, I’m sitting here prepping myself for the Brazil vs. Australia match. Are we ready folks? My ass is going to school early (along with the rest of me) on Thursday to make sure I get to see the USA vs Ghana match.

OK, back to studying and waiting.

Relief

Ha… a little stress relief… The Secret Life of Toys flickr group.

Stress

Friday, June 16th, 2006

I’m feeling stressed. I’ve completed my first assignment for my computer science class and I am worried about it. I used techniques very similar to the ones I used on some of my assignments last semester. Just basic things like menus and sorting. They are very generic and I am hoping they don’t count off. I’m probably just worrying too much. Oh well.

Something is up with my wireless adapter on my desktop, so I’ve been doing a fair bit of my surfing just on my laptop. Not a terrible thing, but I prefer my desktop’s keyboard.

Someone learned how to eat with chopsticks tonight. It has taken her over half an hour to eat almost half of her bowl of noodles, but she is excited about learning, so it isn’t discouraging her. I’m not sure how much more reheating the noodles will be able to take.

We’re also watching Unbreakable. It is the only M. Night Shyamalan movie that she hasn’t seen yet. It is almost over.

Home

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

We’re home, tired, and blah.

I feel like I am suffering from the bends. Behind in my homework and just tired.

Sleep. appointments, late to school, and more homework.

Anarchy

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

I’m sitting in the Student Union around the corner from the tex-mex joint and I can hear The Sex Pistols’ Anarchy in the U.K. blaring. Earlier it was Nine Inch Nails’ The Hand That Feeds. What was killing me was the guy with an afro behind the counter was dancing and singing along while he rang up the orders.

Sometimes this place can be amusing. The fact that I effing bombed a quiz is not good though. Thankfully quizzes total make up 10% of my grade in that class. Pheeew.
