Waiting for too much

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

I’m waiting, waiting and waiting.

I’m waiting for the other three grades. I’m waiting for my mom to get home so that I can help her make piles for Goodwill. I’m waiting for the batteries to charge. Batteries for what you ask. I’m waiting for the batteries to charge for my new camera. I finally bought one after much research. I decided on the Sony H1.

It took a fair bit of research and the reviews are pretty good for it. I had looked at the Canons and Nikons, but in the end I opted for the Sony. Part of it was probably due to the amount of Sony stuff I already have that I can use with this one, but the reviews really helped me decide that the Sony has what I need. So, once the batteries are charged, I’ll start taking some pictures again.

Finally

Semester over. Finals over. Slept more than I have in months. Loved it.

So far I only know my final grade in Philosophy. It is a B. Considering that I was seriously wondering whether I would pass it, I’m surprised. Go me. Even without a curve, I still get a B.

So we are waiting on Communications, Networking, Internet Applications, and Programming. My school To Do list is empty. This is weird.

Update: If I believe what the online system is telling me, I will end up with a B in Networking. However, I should note that there always seems to be an issue with this class and the online program. So let’s just hope it stays a B or gets higher!

Maybe I should clean up in here. It looks like I let the kids play with all of my papers. Oops

Mojo Request

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

I’m putting out a Mojo request for 7pm Eastern. I’ve got my last final, in programming. It is extremely important for me to do decent on this exam. Between just screwing up on the first one and getting sick on the second one, I am in a dire need to do good this evening.

My networking final went pretty well. Even if I failed royally on the exam I just took, I can still pass with a low B or high C. I’m not so worried about making straight A’s or anything. If I was getting funding for school that required it or if my parents were paying, I would be working a lot harder in school and do less around the house.

Swollen and sore throat. Oh gawd…what if it is the mumps? Technically I have the symptoms, but if you notice, the symptoms are similar to just about everything else!

Dooooood. Josh just called to tell (gloat) that he is heading home. Apparently today was company a company picnic day. They had the option of staying and playing the games (poker etc) or they could head home. Josh being wise to the expected high of 93 degrees today and being sick, opted to go home. I’m sure the fact that part of his new computer purchase was due to be delivered this morning had NOTHING to do with this decision. Boys and their toys. Of course I will be completely jealous of his gigantic flat screen monitor. The cat will probably be pissed that she can’t climb on it. Poor kitty.

10 year plan

Monday, April 24th, 2006

One final down, four more to go. Tomorrow I have two finals and the next day I have the last two. Of course the last one would be the hardest. The one today wasn’t easy, but I did what I could. I was (am) a little freaked out that one essay question was worth nearly half of the exam.

I didn’t go to my class today. It was a review and with me being sick, I think I was better off here. At least I did get that other final done. It is an online class and the last day to do it is tomorrow.

Ever have

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

Do you ever have one of those moments? Mine was about an hour ago. I was freaking out because I thought I fubared my final programming assignment, after I finished it. Of course for an hour I went and messed with it and finally I realized I had to run it within specific parameters. Oops. So, all is well and it is submitted. Pheew.

Now, one quiz and one long arse final to do by Monday evening.

Oh, did I mention that I am sick. I think it started a few days ago, but it kicked into full gear yesterday around 1. I’ve been misearble and irritable all day. Icky sicky for me. /bah

Before I go

Friday, April 21st, 2006

I thought this was interesting. Photographs of Israeli female soldiers. No, not IDs, not portraits, just photos. Great photography.

Damn me

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

I’ve gone and made the mistake of watching The Constant Gardener again, while on campus. I’m on the verge of blubbering. Damnit.

OK… Have to go.. /sniffle sniffle.

Teaching

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

I’m teaching senior munchkin how to make chicken parmesan. No, it isn’t the cheese stuffed version. We’re going for the basic version here first. It should be ready in about fifteen minutes. My mom and dad are going to be her victims. I mean her taste testers. Good luck. She wants to learn to cook and I’m more than willing. Of course me being a vegetarian and all, well who the hell knows what it all tastes like. I just realized I have been a vegetarian for nearly 17 or so years. Holy carp. OK… done with that flashback.

My day sucked. I woke up late. The coffee maker overflowed (would you like some coffee with those grinds?). My lunch was mush by the time I was able to eat it. The batteries in my voice recorder died 7 minutes and 48 seconds into the lecture. Good thing I was taking notes anyway.

Oh, this is all on top of the mentally disabled people I encountered today too. One was a 50ish woman with a baby bjorn on. No baby inside. Instead, it was an old teddy bear. She had the entire thing covered with a baby blanket, but I happened to get a peek as I was standing behind her. Yep. Then there was the elderly man that I think suffered from turrets syndrome. Either that or some rude voices in his head.

At least it wasn’t the old guy on campus in the motorized wheel chair trying to sign me up for his bible group. He asks me every time. I try to be nice, but lately he’s been a pushy jerk to people who don’t want to sign up.

I’m going to watch the oven bake stuff. Hrm. Yep.

Not anymore

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

I generally don’t link to companies on my sidebar, but I am getting closer and closer to linking to the hosting company I use. I may do it sometime soon. Why?

Well, the latest news coming in is that:
1. All hosting accounts will include Ruby On Rails. Oh the possibilities!
2. All accounts now include Fantastico Deluxe. One click installs people!
3. Upgrades to bandwidth and disk space to all plans. We’re not talking about little increases either.

Of course, I never seem to have enough time to use any of these things, but I will be happy knowing that I will have them when the time comes.

Go away

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

I’m waiting for some people to leave my favorite spot. Once they go, I can listen to my BBC. They are so messing up my routine.

I’ve been finding little posters for the new Jack Black movie, Nacho Libre around campus. What is up with that man?

I have notes to type up. I’m trying to focus on little tasks at a time.

Alright. Time to go circle the wagons around my table.
