Ahh… help me

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

I can’t take it anymore. I am having a tough time coming up with a question post for my class. It is due by midnight tonight. I just can’t find a question related to any subjects in this section. The few things I have come up with are nearly the same as the ones that others have posted. /sigh

The text for this particular class is entitled, “Oppression, Privilege, and Resistance: Theoretical Perspectives on Racism, Sexism, and Heterosexism.” Yup. /sigh

Weird

Friday, February 24th, 2006

For the past four hours I have been feeling very strange. I can’t look at anything for more than 15 seconds without my eyes hurting and feeling like I am going to be sick. As it stands it has taken almost two minutes for me to type this. There is a big problem with this. I have homework to get typed out and posted, but it is taking forever to look at my notes and try to come up with a coherent post. It is due by midnight tomorrow. I may end up having to dictate it. Where is my speech to text software anyway?

Congrats to Erika, Jay and Samson on Samson’s birth day. Good vibes shall continue to flow your way!

Why me?

Friday, February 24th, 2006

So the PC tech came and basically told me what I had been saying from the beginning. They need to run a new line. So that is scheduled for Tuesday. Of course I will be in class, so I am going to have my mom sit and wait while I leave a phone number for them to call if they get to the house before me.

The cat thinks she is freezing and is trying to cuddle as close to me as possible.

I think I may finally give in to Josh’s idea of getting a new WAP. I’m experiencing blazing fast speeds.

Well, time to do some homework.

Oh yeah.. it is official. I bombed the programming exam. Let us hope he curves and that this exam isn’t weighted very much.

Frustrating

Friday, February 24th, 2006

It is getting mighty frustrating that our internet connection is getting as miserable as it is. We have now had three different appointments and nothing has fixed it. The new cable modem seemed to fix it but we found out the next day that it hadn’t. The only common element in the downtime is the abundance of sunlight on the line into the house. There is nothing else that each event has in common. Weird, I know. Anyhow, they are having a PC tech come out today to see if it is our computer because it didn’t happen while they were here. /sigh That’s because it is only 66 degrees outside, overcast and raining! Sheesh

And for more fun. I’m getting irritated by people in one of my classes getting pissy because the professor doesn’t email them back in enough time. For crimeny’s sake. If you waited until the last minute to do your homework, suck it up. Professors have office hours for a reason!

Virtual Hand Holding

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

OK people. I need some virtual hand holding right now. I am waiting for my programming grade to be posted. You know, the one I bombed on. Yes. We are finally getting part of that grade tonight, or so we are told.

I had planned to get my reading done tonight but I am just feeling really tired, so I don’t want to. I will probably get started on the new programming assignment, if only to just get the intial part done. The instructor is estimating it will take new programmers about 10 hours to complete it. We have 12 days to complete it. Study for my other classes. Why would I want to do something like that? Thank goodness the exam tomorrow is open book and open notes. (I can’t recall ever having a class of any kind that would let us use them!)

I’ve managed to get connected in one area of the library. It isn’t a great connection, but it is working. Josh will inevitably roll his eyes when I tell him why I couldn’t get connected earlier. Someone is sitting in my usual spot (lovely view). Boo to them. Now I have to make sure any of the movies I play are PG-13 or below. I could go up another floor since there usually aren’t more than ten people up there, but that few amount of people kind of creeps me out. It is mostly the computer science/enginnering section of the library. At least I would be somewhere in my element.

Still awaiting for a brand new SnazzySammy over at Snazzykat.

OK, I really should try and be productive or something while I am here.

Ahh, fashion dont’s

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

Yeah, what a day. I am really tired for some reason and I left my cell phone at home. I have Josh’s though. That is what kind of day I have been having.

For some reason I can hardly ever get connected in the library, but am connected fine here. Josh says it is probably just an issue with a wap somewhere and that I need to contact the tech people here. Who knows.

Excuse me for a moment while I go Mr. Blackwell for a bit.

You see, I have this thing that I hate. I mean I really can’t stand it, but everyone seems to do it.

If you are a female with a spare tire, you shouldn’t wear a pair of low rise jeans and a thong two sizes too small. Not to say that seeing anyone’s thong is a good thing, but well, you see where I am going, right? I’ve just witnessed this too much in the past month and it is getting painful to walk around with my eyes open. I’ve taken to walking with my eyes looking down again. Let us also add to the equation the wearing of too small t-shirts that then expose the spare tire to the world. This is about to overtake VPL (visible panty-line) as my number one don’t.

And, as Amy pointed out… Check out the size of this cat. Skittles gets teased if she hits 9lbs flat… geez. Oh, if you can see the video, you’ve got to watch it. The cat can barely move. Poor thing.

Someone remind me to close the comments on this in about a week. The spam is going to get bad if I wait too long.

School, school, school school school pneumonia.. school, school.

School has been keeping my busy.
Shalyn has pneumonia.
I bought a laptop.

That was all yesterday. Today I read my toosh off! I once again confirmed that I shouldn’t bother going to classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Neither class has held a real class in a while. Thursday I have a test, so I’m going for that, but otherwise I am a wee bit peeved at spending the entire day there for a grand total of 30 minutes time spent in class. Oh, and 15 of that was spent watching the end of a movie. /blah

There is an airplane club at school. Josh seemed intrigued. I should taunt him seeing as a meeting is being held tomorrow in the same building as my evening class!

Oh carp, I just realized the time. I need to get some sleep. Tomorrow is my late night.

Homework

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

I forgot I have some homework to do. I’ve been cramming for a test on Monday and doing some reading, so I forgot one of my homework assignments. Oops

Our internet connection is going out again. They are coming out tomorrow. They didn’t believe we were having the problems we were experiencing until it happened while we were on the phone with them. /sigh

Tomorrow… Daytona 500… Dooood.. the traffic is going to be horrible tomorrow!!!

Oh.. we turned on the A/C yesterday. Highs in the 80s. One tenth of a percent of me started to miss the cold, but then the rest of me knocked some sense into that bit.
