Aunt Nancy passed away this morning. I’m ok. 2005 has been a very rough year.
I developed a cough on Thursday/Friday. It was very uncomfortable on Friday and Saturday, but I am starting to develop a routine that helps. I’m still on my other medications for getting really sick, so another sickness is not something I need added to my plate.
As Josh and I were getting ready for bed last night, I flipped the channel to one of the local pbs stations and discovered David Carradine’s Tai Chi for Mind & Body
At first Josh didn’t see who was instructing and he thought I was going insane watching it until he heard the voice and saw the shimmering blue that was David Carradine.

Pat Morita has died. Though he is mostly known as Mr. Miyagi, he was one exceptional actor! Sad. Just sad.

First off… Bubbles in color! (link via web-goddess.org)
Second. I turned on the heat this morning and the dust started to burn so much that smoke alarms went off. Oops.
I think my medicine is tasting nastier every day. It might just be me. I know it is helping but can’t they make medicine taste a little better. These are pills and one of the bottles makes me want to vomit just from opening it. Thank goodness it is winter and I won’t be sweating. I can just imagine how much I would stink. Eeew.
Time to go change the oil in the car. This should be fun. The garage floor is freezing.

Well, I’m still heavily medicated and so far the only side effects of the meds are moodiness and some restlessness. Josh seems to be handling that well. At least I am not suffering the other side effects. Those mostly involve something coming out from one end or the other. Eeew.
I have now seen Goblet of Fire six times. Don’t ask. /sigh
I am thinking of making myself one of those Hogwarts school scarves. I think I have figured out the color patterns and I think they used the same colors as the last movie’s house scarves, so I know what colors I need.
Well, that’s it. I haven’t been doing too much surfing due to all of this being sick stuff. I really need to play catch up, but that will be for later.

A big dent in the wallet later, I’m home and hoping I am better in the next week. It is generally not a good sign when the doctor does all of the tests which come back normal and then begins to stare at you like he was trying to find Waldo. He said my symptoms were odd. I wanted to say, “Tell me about it, my life has always been full of odd.”
I still can’t talk too much about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because some of my friends haven’t seen it yet and I don’t want to spoil it. Brittany liked it. I know I will buy it on DVD because I really enjoyed the action sequences. I do have to say that I think the kids’ acting has improved a great deal. I do like David Tennant as Barty Jr.

Josh and I went to see HP4. I did have to explain some things to Josh as he is not an HP reader.
I don’t want to write anymore until others have seen it. I’ll once again remind everyone, it is a movie, not the book. Keep that in mind.
Now I must go deal with this cold and migraine. I’ll probably be dreaming of how to knit those Howarts school scarves now. /sigh

I don’t want to laugh, but I have to.
I have these neighbors who are, well, cheap. After hurricane Charlie, the wife wanted the tree in their front yard trimmed. Well, they decided to have a friend with a bucket truck come over and they did it themselves. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t experienced enough and they ended up cutting in the wrong direction. One of the large sections fell on the house and broke the roof, literally. There was a chunk missing from their living room roof. Oops.
They had the insurance adjuster come out to make a claim. They were given enough money to replace the entire roof but instead decided to use the money to fix the section and then take the whole family on a cruise. Unfortunately for them they didn’t have anyone watch the house. If they had, they would have known that the roof had leaked in several places and so much water had gotten in that they had a bad mold problem! They ended up coming home to a house of mold. So, now they are having to pay for the roof and mold clean up. The only problem is… they are doing it themselves! The same friends are up there helping out.
I understand people doing the roof themselves. Our next door neighbor did theirs earlier in the year, but one of the friends is a professional so he knew what they are doing. The not-so-bright neighbor is already making mistakes with the paper. I fear for the roof shingles.

Dear Santa,
Even though I know you died many years ago and even though, well, I’m not nor have I ever been Christian, I would like you to do a crossover and bring me the following for Yule.
1 Harry Potter light up wand. I think this would be great for early morning walks.
1 Mirror of Erised. Considering Josh and I only have one mirror, this would be a welcome addition.
1 Gringotts coins set. I had thought about trying to cast some myself, but this is just much easier. Besides, I am not sure what the goblins would do if they knew I had made fakes.
And if you have room, a Fawkes would be nice, but I really just want to see the detail.
Now, I know AJ has written to you and would like some things from the Noble Collection Batman line. I believe it was the light-up keychain, a necklace and The Batarang money clip. He is only five, so if they are a little too dangerous, just leave him a note and tell him why he can only have the toy ones.
I think that is about it. Thank you and good luck.
-M
