Free CAD software. While I know Josh has AutoCAD, sometimes his friends don’t! (link via… oh hell, I really don’t remember)
Quicktime and Windows versions of 13 clips from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. (link via the-leaky-cauldron.org)

I am secretly wondering whether AJ has worn all of the new underwear I gave him for his birthday and if he hasn’t, whether I would be able to persuade him to let me make an underwear wallet.
Have I ever mentioned how much I like reading Alison’s blog? I know it is knitting related, but come on, how can you not love a person who is knitting her children, Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes? While I am talking about sites I love, but have probably not mentioned enough.. how about blogography.com? He travels as much as I would love to and has the loveliest little cartoon version of himself.
I made my husband do a double take! Go me.
My head has been hurting off and on for the past few days. I had wondered if it was stress or what, but I also remembered that my eyes were hurting too. So, I decided to start wearing my glasses. I tend not to, so it is very awkward for people to see me with them on. Even awkward enough for my husband to do a double take when he saw me.
In other news.. It stinks in here. I washed my Rogue in Glycerine today and well, wool + water = stink. I’ve got the window open, but I think it is just blowing the stink in my direction. Eeew. I’m going to break out the hair dryer soon. It has a no heat option that I may have to use.
I’ve been wearing my Rogue for a few days now and it is extremely warm. The yarn has started to pill in the high contact areas after about I’d say 20 hours of wear. Not that good for me, but I am hoping that the glycerin will help.
In the 8th grade we had to write epitaphs for ourselves. Mine was:
Here lies miftik
Six feet underground
Just like Laura Palmer
Whose killer was never found
I remember there was a girl named Laura in my class and she was completely freaked out about it. Obviously, I was the only one who watched Twin Peaks in my class.
Dad’s shop is fine. We restocked the stuff we had put away. If anything, his place got a good cleaning yesterday and today! Of course the dust and what not kicked off a major migraine that is only now starting to go away.
Hopefully that will be the last of the hurricane related entries, but I can’t say for certain. It is still windy and we saw lots of fire trucks on our way home. I could have more to blab about later. ![]()
My mother is just crazy. She’s heading to her shop to open it for as long as she has power.
Obviously, we have power. It hasn’t been too bad here. Our car narrowly missed getting hit by a tree branch. By narrow, I mean three inches! Pheew. We’re waiting for the really bad part to come and go. I forgot to bring in a beach ball from the back yard and I saw it earlier, but now it is no where in sight. I will laugh if I find it in a neighbor’s yard!
Ben Bernanke as Fed Reserve Chairman? I am so used to Alan Greenspan that it seems wrong for anyone else to be Chairman.
We’ll be heading to my dad’s shop in a few hours to check on it and possibly restore everything. If it saves me from going there tomorrow morning at o’ dark thirty, I’m fine with it!
After going with Josh to prep the flying field (I got to hold the bucket for screws, go me!), I called my dad to see what he wanted to do. He decided to be safe and pack as much stuff up and put them under the display. There is some stuff that we just covered. We just don’t know.
We didn’t put the storm shutters up. I would have had to have done it with either my dad or my sister in law who is sick. Either way, I don’t think I could have done it. My back is killing me. I’m typing this while leaning sideways. It killed me just to drag the lawn chairs, benches and tables on to the patio. I want to crawl into bed, but I won’t until Josh gets home. I want to make sure he gets home safely and that won’t be until after midnight.
You can keep track of all of the fun hurricane stuff via wunderground. I’m wee north of the center of the crosshair (not completely off the crosshair, but not in the center). The first feeder band is leaving now and boy was that a doozy. There was a tornado down about 35 miles from here and apparently it was down for an awfully long time.
So, hopefully everything will be fine and we will be over prepared. I’ll pop in when I can. Camera batteries are charged and ready but hopefully there will be very little damage if any at all. It’s coming in south of here and we hope it stays in that direction.
OK, just a quick update, how cool is it that we got to Alpha?
We are north of the projected path, but the forecasters believe we may get hurricane force winds. If not that, we’ll definately have tropical storm force winds.
I’m charging up stuff in case something changes. After Charlie, you just don’t know.
It did make it. Yessssssss. Pretty funny too. Yeah! Sorry, had to make a note before I forgot.
Umm.. How fun would it be to get this light up HP wand and freak out AJ and Shalyn?
