Did hell freeze over and I not know about it? Senate leader Frist backs stem cell research. I mean, this is a good thing but you have to wonder.

Ok, I’ve come across a good site regarding the theories from the latest Harry Potter book.
Warning! Do not click that link if you don’t want to see spoilers. I used tinyurl to hide the url since that is a spoiler itself.
OK, so I am watching The Day After Tomorrow for the hundredth time (and it may literally be that many times) and I just thought of something.
Two of the characters are fussing over Nietzsche and yet a few minutes later (in the movie) they are discussing the Gutenberg bible. How do you not know what a Gutenberg Bible is, but know enough about Nietzsche to believe he was in love with his sister?
So many moons ago I was watching the Daily Show and Alan Cumming was on. Oh how I adore the man. I just about died when he mentioned that he was going to be releasing his own frangrance, appropriately named, Cumming. Check out the video.
I don’t think I’ll buy it just for novelty’s sake though. That would be a waste.
In case the hubby hasn’t seen it, Computer On A Stick. Something we need to make, a bike rack from pvc. A much smaller design than the one I was interested in making.

Umm, Charlie stopped. Charlie is my clock. I’ve had him for close to 15 years. Wow. I haven’t changed his batteries in about five years. Holy crap. It happened either yesterday or today. I recall hearing him tick a few days ago.
I will go get him some new batteries now. I must note the next time he stops.
So this is neat. The federal government is coordinating a national sex offender registry. I remember when I had to sit and maintain a NH sex offenders registry by hand. We weren’t allowed to have the database file, so I had to sit and type in every single offender into a database I created.
Every time a new list was released, I had to go through and find anyone that had moved or anyone that was new. This was pretty annoying. It usually took an entire day to go through and figure out who went where. Eventually I started to know people and their locations, so that made it easier.
It was dropped when I left my job, but from what I understand, some company started it back up. I hope they get less crap from the state than I did.
You know, that was the only time I didn’t feel guilty about using tables.
So here’s my problem… No matter how many filing cabinets I have. No matter how many shelves I have and no matter how many organizing products I have, I always have at least one pile of papers and folders on my desk. Currently, I have three with a fourth one within sight.
It is just so much easier to put a sheet of paper in a pile than it is for me to find the proper folder and file it away. The folders on the desk are for projects or clients I am working on currently. It is easier to have those in a stack than to find them in the filing cabinet.
I like the ideas they have on shows like Clean Sweep, but time just doesn’t allow for the proper filing of papers every day.
On that note, I suppose I should try to sift through these piles and possibly put some of them up.
