Goodnight

Wednesday, November 10th, 2004

Not sure what it will mean, but Yasser Arafat has died. I… I think I’m going to just go sit down for a while and think.

Aa’ menle nauva calen ar’ ta hwesta e’ ale’ quenle.

Big Blanket

Wednesday, November 10th, 2004

I set the deadline to finish the blanket at bedtime tonight. Well, I sort of made the deadline. I was almost out of yarn yesterday around 10:30AM. I decided to go ahead and bind off until we can find the same dye-lot for the wool. Even with the last two inches missing, this thing is massive. It is just wider than a queen size bed and about 18 inches longer. It can turn either way and be comfy. We used it last night and I swear I was so warm I think I almost cried because I had to get up.

Where are the pictures of this blanket you ask. Well, I have some of it on the floor, but it looks blah there. I would get some of it on the bed but 1. I really need to clean up the bedroom and 2. The cat won’t get off long enough to let me straighten it. She’s being extremely pathetic. She does manage to flip herself over every hour or so. The only times she has gotten off the bed today has been when I lifted her off and put her at the window. Of course she would be right back. I think I will just wait and give the pictures a try when I get the last skein.

I will probably begin working on the Irish Hiking Scarf on Saturday. I am really tempted to use some chunky yarn and make them strips for another blanket. Maybe I am getting ahead of myself here. I casted on last night, but kept getting interrupted.

OK, enough craft talk. I’m late for dinner!

Stupid people make me mad

Tuesday, November 9th, 2004

It’s stories like this that infuriate me. If you object to filling a prescription for the pill, then why the hell are you a pharmacist? Ugh. I’m sorry but I have known people who were on the pill for purely medical reasons, not as a form of contraceptive. If they had missed any dosages, it would have completely thrown off the treatment for a serious problem. If one of our pharmacists pulled that, it would cause me to go crazy on them.

I had more to post, but an oncoming migraine is causing me to desire placing my head under a pillow for a while. Life, its exciting.

Charlie, not the hurricane

Tuesday, November 9th, 2004

Charlie and The Chocolate FactoryReading an entry at web-goddess.org got me searching through my bookmarks to find the Tim Burton Collective. They have an information page for the upcoming Charlie and The Chocolate Factory movie. From that site I found John August’s site and read over his Charlie entries. I’m starting to have higher hopes for the movie. No matter what I am sure it will be entertaining and in the end, that is what matters the most.

Voldo

Monday, November 8th, 2004

Dance Voldo, Dance – making the rounds. Not bad. Require Quicktime and turn down your speakers as there is some Nelly involved.

My current plan is the finish Josh’s blanket by Wednesday night. I’m ahead of schedule right now, but I may barely make it before the deadline. My wrists are killing me. It is pretty heavy and is the largest thing I have ever done. When finished it will be 65 inches wide and 78 inches long, knitted as one big piece.

Sue

Saturday, November 6th, 2004

In the interest of the people, can we (the users) sue the power company for their lack of maintenance of their equipment that led to the failure during the hurricanes? I say this because two of the three local power companies are planning to charge users a surcharge to cover the costs of the repairs. F*ck nugget b*st*rds. As of this minute, our power company has not mentioned a surcharge.

Notes from before:
My nephew is so cute. The day he decided he wanted to dress like a president and go for a walk, we passed a yard with a Boston Terrier in it. As we walked, AJ looked at it and turned to look at me. With a straight face he said to me, “That’s a little cow.” I think I almost tripped from laughing. He didn’t know what else to call it and the way it was standing, I guess it kind of did.

Must get a copy of Greg the Bunny on dvd. I love that bunny.

Now, after this coherent moment, I am going to try and get a bit of work done. I should do bills, but that might be pushing it.

Photo iPods and other linky goodness

Friday, November 5th, 2004

Because I’m a dork… Get folks to sign up and get a free photo ipod… Gratis is doing it again, but with the new Photo iPods. The only thing this time is you have to have 10 people sign up! You can still sign up for the regular old free iPods.

Oh Pamela, why did you have to post a link to The Notorious MSG!!!??!!! I’m already slightly delirious from my flu fighting meds. Now I may just break out into a disco frenzy. Thank goodness I am alone.

Also, after watching the bunnyness again, here’s the rest. I even had Josh singing the song. Tee Hee Hee.

Time to go blow my nose.

Bunny Good

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2004

Considering I feel like crap right now (stuffy nose, really bad fever, cough, sore throat, aches, and a headache)… This bit of bunnyness is extremely cute to me. Flash with music. Link via Kantrip.

Like Oh My Gawd

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2004

Watching and waiting for the election results reminds me of the election for homecoming queen. Like oh my gawd, can you believe it?

I’ve really come down with the kids’ cold and have been miserable since yesterday morning. My temperature is below normal, my throat hurts, I am coughing, and my sinuses are stuffed. On the brighter side, I reached the halfway point on Josh’s blanket last night. We’re going to get the last of the yarn this afternoon and I may pick up some merino wool for myself. Yum.

I’m tempted to make the Frivol Hat here. I think if I were to make it, I would have to go bobble free. It is a cute cap.

Off to rest before I go.
