You want me to do what?

Tuesday, March 16th, 2004

I woke up really early this morning to make breakfast for Josh. My mom’s plane was late, so we were pretty late getting home. In order to let him sleep a little later, I fixed him breakfast.

I’m not sure if I will even get to post this, but I will try. A pretty nasty blob of storms is heading this way and more than likely the power will go out here and there. Lots of red on the radar. I imagine I won’t get too much done until noon. /sigh

I haven’t checked in on BoingBoing in a while, but when I did I found the best links…

Print, Cut, and Fold Paper Japanese Robots
Print, Cut, and Fold Paper Toys

I was always a fan of cut-em-outs, so I really like these links.

Crikey, it’s thundering something fierce now, time to go.

Stop it!

Someone has signed up for information online using my address. They signed up for information (check cashing brochure, free crest toothpaste samples, and other junk mail) and now I just got a call from Ameriquest asking for this person. The guy from Ameriquest was really nice and even told me that it is a Yahoo! UK email address that he used. I have a cousin who has this person’s name, but he is not in the UK and as far as I know, doesn’t know this address. But if it is him, I have a feeling he will be getting his a$$ reamed by my father who is tired of the crap coming from that general direction.

In other news… I hear that someone is coming in December!!! K, her family, and more cousins. I believe my dad is calling later to find out more, so I will wait until then.

I realized a few days ago that I am actually a size smaller than I was when I graduated high school. However, I am almost three inches taller (I thought I stopped growing, but apparently I didn’t) and my weight is a little more. Go me!

I discovered points.com will convert your airline miles into other things, like gift certificates. I have enough for a ticket, but the rules and restrictions suck and I figure I might as well use them for something I want, before they expire. I also have a ton of points that I can exchange through other programs. In the end I could probably get about $150 or more in Gift Certificates. I’m kind of tempted to buy a dvd burner for my computer. I need a new burner and I might as well get something that I will eventually want. I just don’t know what I want!

Time to get ready for the arrival of the munchkins.

Me tired, what about you

Monday, March 15th, 2004

Yesterday was exhausting. I sat in front of my computer last night and didn’t have the energy to type.

Josh is at work and the house is empty. Skittles is being cute. She just had a dose of catnip. The kids will be coming over in a few hours. It’s a teacher workday, so the girls don’t have school. No picnic outside today, it’s cloudy and is supposed to rain today. Oh well. Maybe we can have it inside.

Tonight mum comes home. But for now I need to get some work done.

Electric Company

Saturday, March 13th, 2004

Today was a good day. Basic cleaning was done, bikes were rode and Jeeps were driven. Oh and the kids and I had a picnic in the backyard. Brittany missed out, she decided to hang out with her dad all day. Tomorrow she will hang out with me instead and I will see all three of them again on Monday, hopefully. If the weather holds, we’ll probably have another picnic.

Now to figure out some music for tomorrow. I imagine her royal highness will want me to bring some Evanesence with us. She’s already made requests for what food to eat. So far we’ve got Vanilla Yogurt bar or something, cantelope, apples, and anything other than water. I believe I may be threatening her with apple juice tomorrow morning. Please don’t let her think about what movies to take with us.

Knitting in my dreams

Wednesday, March 10th, 2004

You know you’ve either gone off the deep end or are extremely tired when you have a dream that you are knitting with knitting needles over three feet long. That was my dream last night. They were blue needles and I managed to handle them correctly after a while. I don’t know what I was knitting, just that the needles, end to end, were longer than I was tall.

The drive was quick. We headed to o-town to search out a location. I didn’t win the lotto. I’m ready for bed. That has been my update. More relevant stuff another time. I’m tired.

LJing from Mars

Like omg, where have I been? Opportunity and Spirit have their own livejournal. It’s silly but cute.

Josh and I have to take a ride. We’ll be home later.

Not again

Wednesday, March 10th, 2004

You’d have thought that someone in the Bush camp would think it was not a good idea to let campaign fundraisers spend the night in the Lincoln bedroom after the Republicans made such a big stink about it with the Clinton Administration. It should just be an unwritten rule that if someone is raising money for your campaign, don’t invite them for a sleepover. It looks bad!

I’m starting my day late today. First we had to take my mom to the airport at 5am. She’s arrived and should be with my grandmother at the hospital. My grandmother is undergoing chemotherapy again and it’s doing a number on her emotionally. She will be back Monday night. After we finally got some sleep, we’ve gotten some minor tasks done around the house and will be going to take my dad some lunch momentarily. I’m stealing this update time while I make my dad something.

As soon as we get back, it’s back to work for me. Fun!

Pimping stuff for my friend

Tuesday, March 9th, 2004

I thought I should put this up…

My friend is ebaying off some “The Maxx” Comic books. You may remember The Maxx from MTV’s liquid television. He has other stuff too, so give them a look.

Other stuff of interest. I thought I should post a link to IrfanView. I’ve loved this little program for years and I don’t think I have ever linked to it.

This post is brought to you by a break from working. Have you taken a break today?

Today my mom did something very few of us expected. Today she threw away a ton of stuff! I think a total of seven boxes were reduced to one and a half! Go mom! I should mention the half was full of Lincoln Logs of AJ’s. She wanted to do more, but realized she didn’t have time.

Well, I think I shall finish this break by making a spinach pie to go with dinner.

Knitting stuff

Saturday, March 6th, 2004

I finished my rainbow hat. I just used a cheap multi colored yarn from wallyworld and think it is quite cute. I have enough to make a matching skinny scarf, but that’s it. Of course now that I have finished that, I must begin making AJ’s army hat. It’s a light multi-colored (somewhat fatigue like) yarn. AJ saw it and asked me to make him an army hat. I started last night and finished two rounds but fingers hurt.

I was bugging out the other day because I could have sworn I had a lot shorter knitting needles, but I just couldn’t find them. Well I found them. They were in my Roly-Kit that I got a long time ago ($0.50 at a thrift store for the thing, go me). I had never really liked the roly-kit when I saw it on tv, but for that price I couldn’t pass it up. It fits lots of my craft and sewing stuff in it perfectly!

So anyway, I have spent most of my day cleaning this room. I’ve organized my fabrics and yarn. I put all of my knitting needles into an empty vase that was sitting around. I even packed up some of my unused stuff. A lot of electronics were packed up. I can’t believe I packed up two of the web cams. It was kind of sad. I also packed up two usb hubs and a crap load of power cables. I love my gadgets, it was hard to pack them up. I don’t think I will ever be able to actually sell anything should I have to.

I have to work on my sister-in-laws birthday gift. I can’t say what it is just incase she sees this post before her birthday.

I am still working on some projects, but the cleaning is a break I needed. I shall be going back to work on it later. Emails will be managed later.

Maybe I should make a craft section of my site so this stuff doesn’t bog down the regular stuff. I don’t know, we’ll see.

Oh and Brittany was making a list of things to put on her site. So far we have the journal and writing log that are already there. New will be her Top 10 list, book reviews, and movie reviews. That little 10 year old is going to be busy.

Holy smokes

Thursday, March 4th, 2004

Wow, that was fast. I registered a domain for Brittany last night and it’s already resolving! Wow. I am leaving the look of the site up to her. She can use the look of her old site if she wants or we can work after school on a new look. It’s completely up to her.

Something is up with Skittles. All morning she’s been meowing like a kitten. Just a few minutes ago I was here at my computer and Josh was in the other room watching the news. Skittles was standing in the side hall between us meowing and looking around the corner. She’s now getting her catnip on and watching for birds and other creatures outside.
