Missing my deadline

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

I will miss my self imposed deadline (tomorrow). Friday I spent shopping for a new desk for my mother, getting it together and watching the kids. Yesterday I spent rearranging my parents bedroom in advance for possible new furniture (they have to both agree on something). I’d say I accomplished something, even if it wasn’t what I was planning on.

I have ideas in my head for a new design. Now to just decide what. I’ll probably end up doing something completely different and simple. Who knows.

I feel completely drained of energy right now. I think it has mostly to do with Skittles being an evil cat and keeping me up all night. Newborns sleep more than this cat. If she wouldn’t cry out all night, I’d stick her in the bathroom. Instead I just let her know I’m awake and give her ‘The Look’ until she stops.

The return of the Muse

Wednesday, November 26th, 2003

Welcome back to my dear muse. Ideas started flowing, but with tomorrow being Turkey day here, I probably won’t get anything done. Darn it. I did manage to think of a few things.

I took that Digital IQ test floating around and scored a 208 (yes, I screen grabbed it). So I read and play around with computers a lot. I found some of the questions kind of silly. I probably could have scored higher if I had ever written a virus. Oh well.

I’m glad my muse has returned. Thankfully it didn’t last too long. Welcome back.

Leave of Absence

Tuesday, November 25th, 2003

I do believe my muse has taken a leave of absence. I’m hurt. I feel so abandoned by my muse. I want to do things. I have time to do things. I just can’t get those things out from my head.

I want to move this site over to a new host and have the change over done before December 1st. That is my self-imposed deadline. I’m not sure I will make it though. I just can’t decide on a new layout/design. Maybe it’s the impending holiday making me feel this way. I don’t know.

In other news, I’ve lost weight. I’m not dieting, just getting some stuff out of my eating habit. I’ve also stopped having any caffeine. I’ve been working on that one for a while. So far everything seems to be working.

I’ve discovered something. Coconut Custard Pie is becoming increasingly harder to find these days. That is really the only kind of pie I like, my dad too. I have found egg custard pie, but it is not the same.

Skittles is currently begging for food, so I guess I know what I need to be doing right now. Making her dance for her dinner!

Not a big deal

Monday, November 17th, 2003

You know, it’s not a big deal to get a star on the Walk of Fame anymore. Maybe in the 60s and prior it was, but not anymore. For $15,000 and a sponsor, you can get one. If Britney can get one, it has definitely lost it’s meaning.

Josh and I are about to head out to purchase the extended edition of the Two Towers.

Marriage

Saturday, November 15th, 2003

Well, my brother is married. I finally have a little sister. Woohoo, I’m not the youngest anymore. I am going to wait for them to get their pics in so I can scan them in. I’m going to take a nap now. I have reception pics, but forgot the camera for the actual ceremony. No worry, there was someone there to take pictures.

Hello Mr. Cold Front

Thursday, November 13th, 2003

Yes, a cold front is moving through. Can you believe it? Highs this weekend will be in the upper 70s. Sweet candy, break out the sweaters. Tonight it will get down to the lower 60s. Brrrrrrr. Two blanket night.

Things have been busy. We are fast approaching my brother’s wedding day. Eeeeeeek. Must buy tissues and emergency batteries for my digital camera. Just in case.

Today was spent with my mother cleaning the yards. Total weeding, mowing, digging, etc. It is mostly done. We ran out of room in the yard waste bin. It will be emptied before the wedding, so we’ll be able to get rid of what is left. The inside of the house is what is rough. So much stuff that we just don’t know what to do with. Part of it needs to be thrown out, but someone either wants it or can’t move it. I say bonfire, but the local fire department would probably say… “I don’t frigging think so!”

Oh, favorite quote from yesterday. “You can’t hit me, you don’t have any arms.” Brittany speaking to AJ as they are pretending to be Matrix/Kill Bill style ninjas resulting in wounds of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail’s Black Knight nature. Of course they haven’t seen Kill Bill and won’t until they are 18, but they sure act like they’ve seen it. AJ is just funny as heck. If he starts doing the hand gesture from the first Matrix movie, I’m going to bury my head in the sand so I don’t kill myself by laughing too hard.

One of my brothers had a birthday yesterday. He just chilled. Not a bad plan.

I am sad to report that my favorite little eatery, “Maurice’s Grille” a little Italian place about 10 minutes from here, is gone and is now some Mexican restaurant. I am quite sad and feel like crying. It really sucks.

Oh, I’m sorry

Wednesday, November 5th, 2003

Ok, apparently I don’t like movies for the right reasons. So uh, if you aren’t like me, you’ll think Revolutions sucks. I think Ian Bliss (Bane) did a really good job. I think it was edited wonderfully. Sound, score, and soundtrack fabulous. All meshed together. The CGI was much cleaner. Yes, I know they filmed them together, but editing adds a lot!

I keep reading reviews and people got mad because Monica Bellucci (Persephone) didn’t get enough screen time. She sure as hell got enough cleavage time though. That should have been enough for those folks, but nope.

I don’t know. Seeing as how Scary Movie 3 was the number one movie for two weeks, what can I say?

Revolved

Wednesday, November 5th, 2003

Well, mission accomplished! Revolutions was on IMAX accomplished.

We made it to the show on time (even enough time for munchies). I managed to stifle my coughs until the loud sequences. I bow down before the cgi wizards that made that movie. Holy crap did it rock. The end, good, but not great.

That’s about as much as I’ll be saying. I really don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Brittany should be ok. Someone will need to close her eyes for about 5 seconds. Brief nudity and even then she’s seen more than this in other movies.

Basically it was pretty damn good. If you can see it on an IMAX, DO IT, and try to get the good seats!

Mission slightly possible

Tuesday, November 4th, 2003

The plan:
10:00 A.M. showing of “The Matrix: Revolutions” on the IMAX screen down the road. If it’s sold out we figure we can walk around the drive for a few hours and get tickets to the 1:00 P.M. showing. I have no doubt that Brittany will be solidly frustrated with this move, but she’s a kid. She can deal with it! She really wants to see Revolutions, but it would be best if we (any adult in the family) saw it first.

I bought the 2-disc collectors set of Finding Nemo. Super cute of course. The “virtual aquarium” was cute too. I am tempted to have it on one day before the kids come over and see what they say. AJ will probably tell me that Nemo is broke or something.

I’m coughing a lot and blowing my nose a lot as well. I hope it’s not too bad tomorrow. That would suck, big time.

Well, if we are to be ready for our mission, we’d better get some sleep.

Killing me

Tuesday, November 4th, 2003

Ok, it was killing me. I watched Charmed this weekend (yeah, so what) and the guy playing a character named Richard looked REALLY familiar. I just figured out that it was Balthazar Getty. Jeez Louise he’s grown up. Then again, he’s older than I, but it just seems weird.

Feeling tons better today. I think my fever is breaking. Yeah. I’ve decided that I need to get out, so my mother and I are going shopping later. I need to pick up a copy of Finding Nemo for myself. I liked that movie. It was cute, very cute.
