Sucks

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

I had planned to go out and get Bend It Like Beckham and The Tick (The Entire Series) today. I still feel like crap though.

My sister-in-law and I may go to check out a bridal shop this evening (with my future sister-in-law), so if I am feeling well enough to go then, maybe I’ll pick them up. If anything, there is always tomorrow.

Home school

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

Whenever I have kids, we’re homeschooling them. Why, you ask? Because the kids have caught a bug and guess what… I’m sick again and it sucks. I used to have a really tough immune system until I got the chicken pox three years ago. Now I get sick really easily. I was up at 6am practically in tears because I felt so miserable. Ugh this sucks.

In happier news, I am pleased to announce that my oldest brother is engaged. Yeah!

There is a new hamster in the kids’ lives. It’s a boy and they named it Snowball (Stuart Little cat voiced by Nathan Lane). Shalyn originally wanted it to be a girl and name it Isabella. After past experience of getting girls and them being pregnant, they opted for a boy. Apparently Snowball likes to sleep in his food bowl. He’s got a pretty sweet pad too. He has a slide to go up and down the different floors, an exercise wheel and an exercise ball. Of course he has the tubes as well. My brother is buying a couple here and there. You don’t want to shock the poor thing too much in one day.

Skittles will be writing in her diary in a while. She’s sitting next to me waiting to get on the computer. She wouldn’t leggo-my-eggo yesterday morning. Bad kitty.

Uncertainty

Friday, September 26th, 2003

I’m sitting here watching it and wondering, should I stop looking at anything related and just wait til December? I mean, what if it doesn’t live up to my expectations? Hrm. They really ought to make 12 hour long DVDs. Then they could release prequels and sequels etc on one DVD. That would r0xx0r my s0xx0r. I just realized I’ve said ‘r0xx0r my s0xx0r’ for too many years. At least I am not calling things ‘Republican’ anymore.

Brittany and I have been working on getting her ‘elf’ costume. She thinks there might be a dress up day at school and she’s DYING to wear this costume. I think I need to soak a part of it in tea or something. I need to darken it slightly and it would probably work best. I believe part of it is that she likes being able to wear my cape. Shalyn looks cute in the cape as well, but Brittany wants to be an elf. Shalyn wants to be a pink lady. I would like to get AJ to be Frodo, but that’s just pushing it. He’s got the right height ratio with Brittany. It would be perfect! /sigh

Foot is still swollen, but sill no further spreading. Holy Carp did it itch this morning. Those ants have just entered total war with me. I tried to be nice, but now they will learn. I don’t tolerate bites.

One track mind

Friday, September 26th, 2003

My cat is weird and has a one track mind… food. My mom and brother have left for my aunt’s funeral. I would really would have liked to have gone, but I think my mom and my brother both needed to go. Besides, someone has to watch the munchkins. They can’t miss school.

Shalyn was really brave at the dentist, though she got nervous at the end I am told.

After getting up to get Josh up to take my mom and brother to the airport, I took a nap. Then of course Josh gets back and pops in to tell me Robert Palmer died. I still remember being on the plane to London and one of the British Airways stations played Whitney Houston, Robert Palmer, and Simply Red. Over and over again. Nothing new until when we flew back to the states about a month later.

In other news, my foot is still swollen and itches, but it hasn’t spread anymore. I think if I put some fake hair on my foot, it could pass for a Hobbit’s foot.

Weird dreams last night. Not sure how exactly, I just remember waking up thinking, ‘that was weird’.

Spiffy it is not

Thursday, September 25th, 2003

Well, I’ve had a spiffy morning. First my demonic ‘The sun is out, let’s wake up” cat drove me nuts. She’s gone really weird lately. Then I fell asleep on the couch and woke to the sound of the doorbell. Apparently one of our neighbors a few doors down spilled a five gallon bucket of paint right smack in front of my house and wanted to borrow the hose so he could hose off the poor car that came along right after it happened. I helped with the house, stepped in an ant hill and got bit. The trash guys called a city clean up crew for it. The poor guy felt so bad after doing it. He ended up staying until it was all cleaned up. Up in NH, people used to just go and not give a damn.

The worst part of this morning was the ant hill. Why? Because my foot is now swollen! Aggggggghhhhhh. At least I know what my feet would look like if I gained 50 lbs! It’s just making walking hard to do.

We are awaiting the return of munchkin from the dentist. Shalyn is a little worried. She is going to my mother and brother’s dentist. It’s a little farther away, but she is a GREAT dentist. My mom went and promised to hold her hand.

Well, I need to go and try to get the darn cd burner working. I’m tempted to just tell Josh I need to get a new dvd-burner and skip the whole cdr thing. :)

Aunt Shirley

Wednesday, September 24th, 2003

This morning my great aunt Shirley died. She battled cancer many times in her life, but she lost this battle. She changed A LOT this last go around. About a year ago she and I shared a room at my grandmothers. We ended up spending most of the night giggling about tv shows and silly things. It was then that realized that I did many of the things she dreamed about doing and that seemed to make her happy. I will watch Trading Spaces and think of her, the do it yourself addict she was. Goodnight Aunt Shirley.

Aa’ menle nauva calen ar’ ta hwesta e’ ale’ quenle. Namaarie.

Pain

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2003

My shoulder is really hurting today. It has been about a week since it started hurting. It was minor at first, but today it’s just been horrible. My mom was sick this morning (and my brother too) and I ended up going to the shop to take over for a few hours. She is feeling better, but has a headache.

I think I’m going to take something for my shoulder and head to bed.

Happy Birthday

Monday, September 22nd, 2003

Happy birthday to my littlest munchkin, AJ. He was excited to learn that he has the same birthday as Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.

Lectures

Friday, September 19th, 2003

Josh just mini-lectured me about not having a band-aid on my toe that I hurt today. /sigh ok, I’ll put one on.

Family and friends are getting bombarded by Isabel. Here I was worried she would wack us and then she goes after a ton of family. At least they were/are prepared.

Going to get down to 68 tonight, so we’ll probably open the windows. Yeah, finally.

Don’t forget that today is ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day‘ and so what if it was made up by some goofy guys. It’s a fun idea and I’ll probably do it just to confuse the kids. I’m all for the ball of confusion. That’s what the world is today… ;)
I’m really digging AuctionWitch.com. I have to keep Brittany from there, she’d probably try to get me to buy her everything. link via EasyBakeCoven.net
