Church and State

Monday, January 29th, 2001

On f-ed up nation, under god if Bush has his way. It hasn’t even been 2 weeks. What are we in for, for the next four years?

I have nothing against religious organizations. I just don’t want my money going to them. As long as there is a legal seperation of church and state, G. doesn’t have the right to give my money to a religious group. No wonder those guys escaped from the Texas prison. After years of living in this guy’s state, who wouldn’t. I would request to be moved to a federal prison in another state.

I think dubya du’mass (b left out on purpose) should have his wife help him write a book. How to screw a nation in 14 days.

I think I’m going to brush up on some law. Then I’m going to see what kind of jobs area available overseas.

Blue foot

Monday, January 29th, 2001

I think it’s a bad thing when your feet begin to turn blue. I noticed it and kind of freaked out, but a little work and they’re back to their normal color. Pheew!

So I worked for 6 hours on cleaning up the Mp3s. Guess how far I got (going alphabetical)? Bauhaus! And that’s on the server, not what is on my machine or burned on cds. Oi Vey. I am hoping to finish this prior to the new year which is in about 330 days.

Apparently the Ravens won the Stuperbowl and a woman from New Hampshire was the first person kicked off of Survivor. Yipee. Can you feel the excitement? I can’t. I did watch about 30 minutes of the Stuperbowl (yes I’m doing it on purpose), just so I could see the commercials. I was a little upset by the E*Trade crack at Pets.com At least they had some REALLY smart advertising people. Better than the people at E*Trade. At least Pets.com wasn’t a company that screws you royally, like my experiences with E*Trade were. I loved Pets.com and I happen to own Sock Puppet Merchandise (see the Skittles Cam on most days) and quite a bit of it. Don’t knock the sock!

On a happier note, I was happy to see the running of the squirrels. It was done by the same people who did last years “cat herding” commercial. Ad Critic has that one, a ton more, and will probably have this years up there soon, if they aren’t there already!

Why is it so cold in the house? Now my fingers are turning blue. I don’t care, I’m turning the heat up to 90 or something. This is ridiculous. 76 degrees? Something’s got to be wrong with it.

Mp3ing

Sunday, January 28th, 2001

Task for today. Clean the house and clean up my Mp3s! I’ve got about 30 something Gigs worth (yes really). I really like music, and I’ve ripped a lot of my cds. I have to clean up the ID3 tags and files names. I’ve used different applications to rip them through the ages, and they all named the files differently. Good luck to me…

Weird Names

Friday, January 26th, 2001

Did you ever notice that people talk about other countries having weird names for cities, but they never think about the United States having weird names too? I mean, we’ve got cities called Intercourse, Unicoi, Boaz, and so forth. That’s just the beginning. I guess there are just a lot of narrowminded people in the world… Especially in this area of the country

Well, he tried it again. Little man, my patience is wearing very thin. Don’t think I won’t break out my forces of darkness. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the entire range, but I noticed he used a different ISP. This time I believe it was from a friend’s, who uses @home cable internet. Maybe I should just bar the entire country of Canada from the guestbook. I wouldn’t ever do that, but it would be a little less work in the long run!

Law and Order

Friday, January 26th, 2001

I really like Law and Order. It’s just a good show. The Practice pales in comparison. All of those dramas do. It’s just a really good show. I watched it tonight. I watch it a lot. It comes on plenty of different channels at different times.

I just don’t know. I was ok for most of the day, but I got depressed late in the evening. I fell asleep after about an hour. Maybe I needed it. I’m tired, but I’m not. My eyes hurt. I’m fine. I’ll manage.

Yuck, Behind Closed Doors with Joan Lunden. I can’t say it’s very interesting.

The house smells like garlic. I made 2 different meals for Josh tonight. I know I won’t feel like cooking tomorrow, so I did all of it tonight. It helped me. Maybe we’ll go out tomorrow night. I think I may have liked to have gone tonight, but it was “Thirsty Thursday.” The night when people go out after work and have drinks. I don’t drink and most of the people in this city who go out on thirsty thursday are the annoying kind of people. I didn’t want to be annoyed, not tonight.

My sister-in-law and I were sending messages back and forth on the computers and she informed me that my youngest niece Shay was going diaper only. She loves to take clothes off and put new ones on. Maybe she’ll be a fashion model when she gets older. She’s cute enough! First she has to get a good head on her shoulder and not turn into a pain in the rear.

Ok, I can’t stand Joan anymore. Time to go.

Good Gord

Friday, January 26th, 2001

Man oh Man… Wholly toys Batman… It’s a Transformers Generation One Complete Set. However I don’t think I could dare afford it. Where would I put it and how much would shipping and insurance cost? Good Gord, how crazy is that. I’m going to keep track of it, just to see what happens. Wow

Slushies

Thursday, January 25th, 2001

I’m ok. I’m fine. Don’t worry. Since I don’t drink, I kind of don’t have a use for the margarita glasses we ended up with. Well I do now!

I’ve discovered Kool-Aid Slushies! You can buy the packaged kind which work ok. They were 2 for $1 at the grocery store. They make about 4, 8oz. cups. Then I also found a recipe at Baby Corner for them. I’ve yet to try it, but here it is.

1 package of unsweetened Kool-Aid drink mix, any flavor

2 cups of water

1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar

4 cups ice

In a blender, combine Kool-Aid, water and sugar. Blend. Add all the ice and blend.

That’s it! Pour into cups, add a straw and enjoy.

For Coca Cola, simply add one can of Coke and enough ice to cover and blend.

If anyone tries it, let me know how it goes. Of course I don’t have a blender, so I’ll stick to the kool-aid buyable stuff for now.

Auntie

Thursday, January 25th, 2001

My mom just called me. My eldest aunt died 3 hours ago. That would be 9am my time. I’m ok. I just wanted to post it to remember it. Thanks.

Firetruck

Wednesday, January 24th, 2001

A lovely picture for today:

Fire Trucks

Something must have happened across the street. There were 5 fire trucks, 1 fire marshall vehicle and they had a hose out.
